Hackney in tears

Who has he signed for like? Lot of assumptions being made. I am hoping he wants to stay. Can’t see him going abroad, not sure who in the Prem would buy him unless it is as a squad player and he may not get game time. If we did get a top bid ok, but I’ll be surprised if we get a significant offer of £15M plus

We absolutely will get significant offers.

We rejected £10m from Porto.

Premier League clubs can and will offer more.

I reckon he's off to Palace.

Good player and it’ll be sad to see him leave, but if we can a good fee for him and use that money well, it won’t be the end of the world.

I think it’s actually more of a shame that he has been playing in a team of players and under a coaching team who look so half arsed and unbothered for half a season.

Top class player, doesn’t always get it right but always entertaining to watch and a rolls Royce at times. Clearly far too good for us now and in a better team with better players he’ll fly. He’s clearly worth £15-20m and I hope we get close to that.

He's going to the Premier League.

Great player, should have been in the play-offs with his hometown club but Carrick's management and a disastrous January window from him and Scott ended all that hope.
Carricks got all sorts wrong but players need to own there actions, the majority of that team played with no passion or pressure thats on them and there attitude, Coventry wanted that more they fought and pushed us back we tried but where our usual with our smart and nice application at times but no ruthlessness in either defending or attacking.

Another manager will want to get rid of half of the squad as they will know they are not up for the battle and what it takes to be a top team.

Squad needs pace adding all over, we need some players that can attack a set piece whether attacking or defending so many issues for me.

We've seen it happen in the past, but it always hurts when you see a good young talent move on when he wants to be playing at the highest level for his hometown club.

Nor have I , as I said his decision making is poor ,getting booked almost with a grin ,simply because abuse he doesn’t have the guile or fitness to get back at the player
The first definition of the term crocodile tears I came accross

tears or expressions of sorrow that are insincere.
"they weep crocodile tears for the poor and disadvantaged, but are basically happy with things as they are”

Half the squad will be gone.

We've got 5 loan players, 2 out of contract, and others that will get offers and be sold.

I really can't understand why anyone can say any player has been superb this season. Hackneys been up and down.

Hackney has some really good assets but also some big weaknesses. He gives the ball away to easily, doesn't have pace to recover, doesn't win enough tackles. Probably doesn't get enough goals or assists for someone who doesn't do the former.

His weaknesses are massively emphasised in this team, like alot of the players. Will he go elsewhere and do well I have no doubt, he's a bit of a luxury in such a poor team, him and Morris can't control a game. That's down to alot of reasons, tactics players, around him etc.

I really think we need some pace and aggression in the midfield.

I like the lad but if we could have sold him and kept latte I think that would have been better for us.

Right now its hard to pick apart this team because we just look completely lost as a club they all look awful.

He will bring us money and I hope he has a fantastic career. If he stays we need to support him with better players who help him flourish.

He needs to move on to grow as player, Mr Carrick will end up in the same boat if he doesnt move heaven and earth to shift most the players. Going through the motions and just picking money up.... lots to debate over the summer.
