Groundhopping in Norway

I'm contemplating a groundhopping trip to Norway in the English close season.
Has anybody ever done this or anybody who has spent time in Norway got any recommendations?
I'm aware its not the cheapest country.
Not bothered about sticking to top flight football, quite happy watching lower league football.
Interesting settings and quirky grounds always appeal and keen to head to the north of the country as it will be summer.

Dunno what the football situation is but I spent some time in the small mining town of Roros this summer, very pleasant/cosy/relaxed little place.

I work in Oslo but I must admit to only going to one match here, which was Stabek a few years ago. If you want to watch decent football there will be a fair bit of travelling to do, Norway is a big country north to south. Anyway, maybe this link may give you a starting point.

I've little knowledge of Norway, other than I drove between Oslo and Stavanger a few years ago for a couple of gigs and it was very enjoyable. On the football side, do you use the futbology app? If not, it's worth a look and will make planning so much easier. Good luck with it.

I once went to a guisborough town match that 1,200 people attended. It was a top of the table clash with Whitby but the attendance was largely so big because a load of Norwegian groundhoppers turned up. Was bizarre. Usually had gates of 2-300.

Stavanger, Haugesund and Bergen are easy to travel between by bus or fast boat.

sandness, viking, Haugesund and Brann in easy reach

i lived in Haugesund for 15 months and Stavanger for a year, it’s not cheap to eat, drink, or travel really

I lived in Sandnes and Stavanger, played lower league football and followed Viking but only got to one away game, at Bryne who are no longer top flight. Even at our lower level there was a lot of travelling involved. You'll have to spend quite a while there to see more than a few grounds.

One of the teams that the Norwegians go to en masse, is believe it or not Stenhousemuir, I know because many years ago they were on the same flight as me. When I asked why Stenhousemuir, they said they just like their name. Class

Haaland’s home town isn’t it?

Well, I never thought I'd read Roros on this forum. Stayed one night there and passed through a couple of times, Strange obsession with trolls as I recall. Them, not me, despite my sig.

No, I sat in a hotel bedroom watching Bootcamp with my teenage daughters thinking "ha, who would let their kids behave like that"?

Well, as it turns out, it was me.

But I'll never forget the line "You fuckinknob'ed" as long as I live. Always rooted in Roros.
