Yes or no?

Cheeky chappy nice guy or self-satisfied conehead with a nasty streak?

Anyone met him?

I say this every time Bake Off is on but Paul Hollywood is an ungrateful b****d.

All these people spending all day making him cake, just for him to go table to table slagging them off in front of his giggling mates.

When its my turn to be on Bake Off (I assume its like jury service), I'll be taking in some French Fancies and telling him where to shove 'em.

Sick of him.

If you’ve done a **** job on baking how to expect to improve by fluffing around it?

Well that's fairly succinct Piccadilly 😁

Wallace tries hard but fails miserably to be Torodes equal when it comes to cooking. I suspect that the occasional technical comments he makes are as a result of the marvels of TV editing. Whenever there is an attractive female contestant on, he appears to salivate at her more than the food. He always finds positives for the lovely ladies, as does Hollywood on Bake Off. Hollywood is marginally more obvious with his cheesy, occasionally flirty comments, just.

I don’t mind Torode in all honesty, although he can be a little sullen at times. When I found out he had pulled Lisa Faulkner, I did wonder what she first saw in the millionaire Aussie chef.

John Torode owns a restaurant in Smithfield market called Smiths. I know somebody who worked there and she told me he was a bit of a t**t. That confirmed my thoughts on Torode from Masterchef. Both he and Wallace make the show unwatchable for me.

In all honesty, I think most top chefs whether TV or otherwise come across as if they are probably self obsessed, arrogant and churlish. I suppose the skills required are quite specific at the high end with little margin for error in what can be highly pressurised atmospheres.

Kitchens always seem emotional tinderboxes where flare ups are regular and occasionally toxic, and thats just in my house, so i dread to think what a fine dining establishment must be like 😬

Blimey sounds like a case for ACAS. Negotiations, beer and sandwiches late into the night.

My partner and I were sat close to Gregg Wallace years ago in Jose Pizarro's excellent restaurant in Bermondsey. GW was loudly, and I suspect drunkenly, giving it the big I am, critiquing the food to the staff and coming across as an obnoxious lecherous idiot. Amusingly he briefly opened a restaurant over the road which got some of the worst reviews that I've ever read and closed almost immediately! https://www.standard.co.uk/go/londo...e-bermondsey-square-hotel-review-7499383.html

Bourdain was my favourite 'celebrity' chef by a distance. Great books, great documentaries. There's few famous people I hold, or rather held, in much higher regard.

Please dont tell me Rick Stein is arrogant, self obsessed or churlish, he seems like an ok bloke. I agree most of the other celeb chefs are plonkers

It was certainly a tragic ending of his life. As far as I recall, nobody had an inkling or understood why he committed suicide did they? Then again, that is not unusal I guess.
