Great news - Well done Tees Valley Mayor Ben Houchen & business secretary Kwasi Kwarteng

The company I work for are going from strength to strength & recruiting, imports & exports, shipping, road tankers etc, the future looks excellent, which again is fantastic news for young lads coming in to my line of work
Ill be the first to like your post about young lads getting good local jobs. My son is the same done his Apprenticeship and now got full time job with a chemical company on Wilton. Amazing how any post knocking Houchen gets numerous likes.

I tend to use a like to show agreement rather than as an active "I like this thing".

More a nod of the head than gushing applause.

I appreciate other people will use them differently but it's not a slight if I don't like a post - otherwise you'd end up having to leave a reaction on everything just to make your position clear.

Because people write things like "Far(ce) left" and suck all the joy from the world.
It seems the Far(ce) Left are a bit touchy. There is not a name they don't use against anyone the disagree with. The current vogue is Labour Lite, I can remember it from over 10 years ago, nothing goes out of date.

Me, life is simple I vote Labour, even Corbyn Labour failure.

My son, who is 25, works at SABIC after successfully gaining a 3 year apprentice, so when I see good news I'll start a thread about it

It gives me a bit of hope for youngsters of today around our area

I would sooner talk about Houchen & plants/projects that are happening than talk negativity about Houchen & plants/projects that dont happen, but each to their own

Erimus, I agree completely. When did the Left become so miserable? They seem to despise positive news.

They could win £1m on the lottery and then moan about the fuel they use to go and get it.

Houchen consistently massively over promises and pretty much always under delivers. I appreciate every politician has social media and news management to do but his is a bit too north korean for my tastes. With his apparent budget he should be achieving more than he has but my main problem with his is the detail of everything he does is very shady and secretive. If he was more open I would have more sympathy with hims but the way operates looks dodgy and seems most money is wasted on vanity projects like the airport and teesworks gatehouse.

Hi r00fie lad, I haven't started any trouble at all

I've posted some good news about the area, its up to others how they react to it, for me, there shouldn't be any negativity about something positive about the area
You have posted some positive stuff about the area Erimus- but it is just like the Boro- getting built up to knock you down again

People don't want to see Houchen fail, they simply want him to tell the truth and for him to stop exaggerating. I guess it's a politicians thing, but Houchen-and the same can be said of Preston, are serious exaggerators, Boris Johnson the same.
Teessiders are big enough to take the truth and we'd all much prefer it, even if that means were not getting promised Sun lit uplands
