Huge investment and a large number of full time jobs.
Helping to fill the hole left by the steel closure. Hopefully more to come before too long.
That's disappointing. And your thoughts on this one?
Blow as GE drops plans for vast turbine plant on Teesside
News of the decision comes just 24 hours after firm SeAH Wind started work on its own vast plant at the former steelworkswww.gazettelive.co.uk

Houtchen is a pointless middle man who has confessed to making stuff up. Dozens of photo-ops printed in the once reputable Gazette with his gurning face promising tens of thousands of jobs, with no substantial basis. He bought Teesworks land from the Thais with tens of millions of your money then gave most of the land to one of his mates.ThePrisoner comments gets more thumbs up than the original good news comment.

Realists who are still waiting for the previous 10,000 jobs to materialise, maybe?ThePrisoner comments gets more thumbs up than the original good news comment.

We do.If only we had a nationalised energy provider who could plan and invest for the short, medium and long term - instead of the whim of international companies protecting ther own interests?
Now there`s an idea?
Yes you're right. It says that when the GE blade factory was announced with the usual boosterism it was greeted as great news on the basis that it was a done deal. Some on here took the attitude that they'd celebrate when the jobs materialised and they were accused of being 'negative ninnys' who just wanted to talk down Houchen's achievements. Turns out they were right to be cautious and are right again to point out the failure rather than allowing it to be swept under the carpet.ThePrisoner comments gets more thumbs up than the original good news comment.

So far it would have been cheaper to pay the 750 people an annual salary for the next 40 years out of the tax payers money that Houtchen has wasted. For the 750 lads and lasses who end up with jobs, this is good news.
Whoever can legitimately take credit for bringing this about, well done!
With an average salary plus on costs of £30k that would mean he's wasted £900m.So far it would have been cheaper to pay the 750 people an annual salary for the next 40 years out of the tax payers money that Houtchen has wasted.
And don't mention Teesside Airport. I did once but I think I got away with it
Probably not. Ben. T. Houchen has had over £1.5 Billion of our money given to him so far. That's still nowhere near the amount of money taken off the 5 Councils that cover the area theTees Valley Mayor represents, over the last 12 years by the way. Since he was elected as Mayor, there has been a net loss of at least 16,500 jobs in the Tees Valley and that was using figures from over a year ago. With an average salary plus on costs of £30k that would mean he's wasted £900m.
Is that correct?
