Great news about Bury

Thought they formed a phoenix club (like Macclesfield) and started all over again at the bottom of the football pyramid?

They did but the old club still own the group the ground and some fans never got behind the new club. Hopefully they can come to a sensible agreement.
 
Does anyone else think that the rise of FC United and Salford City contributed to the demise of Bury?

Appalling owners and fit and proper ownership regulations that are not fit and proper in the modern world were the death knell. This report sounds like Bury could be a model community club and a real hub. Something many other sports clubs at all levels could aspire to mimic.

You see this talked about a lot but what exactly is a community club and a hub.

As Bournemouth were hailed as the torch bearer for this but sold out to a Russian money man as soon as they could snd now are he epitome of the money chasing gravy train.

Read it they are set up in such a way they cannot be bought out like Swansea were. Gigg Lane is going to be multi use for all sorts of things.
It is the kind of approach they are looking at now for the many churches that are going out of use.
 
They've had a lot of break-ins at Gigg Lane caused a lot damage rather than stealing anything. Local news down here as it down as kids doing the damage. In terms of cost to the other bigger clubs in the GM area its peanuts but to them, could cause a massive dent in their accounts.
