Apparently there was a deleted scene or a scene in the script that was never filmed that explained that most of our technology (including the internet, software etc) was reverse engineered from the stuff they recovered at Roswell. Hence why the virus worked

Family Guy pointed this out but I can’t stop thinking about it when watching Star Wars.

Why…during The Empire Strikes Back….during the battle of Hoth…do the escape ships fly directly at the Star Destroyers? It’s space. They had an infinite amount of coordinates to choose from but chose to fly directly at them, thus needing to avoid heavy fire to succeed in escaping.
