I just watched a really great video on youtube with Kessler and Calzaghe re-watching their epic battle with Steve Bunce. Fantastic to see the love and respect they have for each other. What a fight that was. But in youtube's brilliant way, in the right margin was a link to the Calzaghe vs Jeff Lacey fight ... which I've seen many times, but never with an American commentary. I thought I'd watch it again.
2 things. This was calzaghe at his best.
2nd, in the corner, between rounds 2 and three, you can hear Calzaghe tell his Dad "He can't punch for ****". His Dad carries on telling him what he needs to do and Calzaghe just repeats "He's ****".

He knew he was in with a fighter who was no-where near his level. Just an amazing performance. Having seen Lacey demolish other fighters brutally, I still felt sorry for the poor sod.

The Benn vs McClellan fight was the most brutal I've ever watched. McClellan was much bigger and heavier at the bell then when he put Benn through the ropes in the 1st minute I thought it was all over. Both fighters ended up in hospital but the consequences for McClellan live with him to this day unfortunately.

If you want to see some epic boxing, try

Arturo Gatti vs. Micky Ward
Diego Corrales vs. Jose Luis Castillo
Aaron Pryor vs. Alexis Arguello

To name but three. I had a soft spot for a fighter from Oz called Jeff Fenech - not the most gifted but a huge heart who always went all in for his fights.

I was at that fight, it was brutal.

I always enjoy watching this. After the fight it was painted as a washed up Roy Jones. I like that the American commentary goes with script in round 1 and 2 (Joe is out of his league ... "a washed up Felix trinidad"). Then there's a building incredulity as Calzaghe starts doing to Roy Jones what Roy Jones used to do to inferior fighters. Peekaboo showboating and humiliation. Fantastic entertainment, unless you are Roy Jones. Calzaghe makes Roy Jones look ridiculously slow. Round 3 is ridiculous.

Manny Pacquiao destroying Miguel Cotto is a brutal fight too. Cotto was one hard bast*rd but was taken apart.
