Grant Hall

Have to admit I wrote him off long ago but he has looked quality the last few games. Just hope we can keep him fit

Don’t get why people slagged him after his first couple of games to be honest. Proved at QPR he’s a very good player at this level. Key is keeping him fit as he’s solid and is a threat. We will see the best of him next season I think.

Saville had two players either side of him and bolasie in front of him. On that pitch and savilles speed he picked a pass that put a good player through on goal who missed. Bolasie should have scored and that's all.
Saville bottled it, because it was asking for a right footed shot, instead he passed the buck to Bolasie who had made a diversion run to create the space, he didn't expect the pass

Just seen it. With PQ on this. Bolasie should have scored. The pitch was a factor in why Saville thought a pass was the best option so I don't see where “bottling” comes into it in my opinion.

forwards learn those diversion runs to take a defender away all the time. I haven't watched it back yet, but I instantly thought why didn't he (Sav) drive into the space and shoot

It was an awful ball from Saville but also a poor shot from Bolasie.

Saville was at a better angle to score without passing than Bolasie after the ball was played.

Lovely finish for the winner though 😄

i think Bolasie calls for the pass for me from what I can see. He didn’t look surprised he got it. It happened so quickly it wasn’t as though it was an obvious chance for Saville.

He's a very good defender. I mean that as in he 'defends'. Just keeps it simple and nothing flashy.

Also poses more of a threat from setplays as the others. I know he scored last night but he's come close a few times. Also a bit of a 'talker' so that's gotta help.

The miss at the end was a bit of both. A woeful pass from Sav but Bolasie has to at least hit the target. I'm not sure why Sav passed? He was far better positioned to run in unchallenged.

having rewatched the video, I think Sav didn't have the pace to exploit the dummy run, which is why he passed. He would have had to shoot from 20+ yards on his right foot, he probably scores about 1 in 100 of those in training.

Regarding Hall being a talker, I remember Warnock saying when he bought him, that there were not enough leaders, enough talkers in the dressing room.....and I think he was right.

As Hall scored, Fry was right behind him "in the queue", I just hope he was taking notes.

Dael, if you weren't, THAT IS HOW YOU ATTACK THE BALL AT THE BACK POST.
