Boro's new defensive leader Grant Hall described to reporters at yesterday's press conference how the decision to join Boro was a real no-brainer for him.
Is it also no coincidence that just like Steve McClaren with Gareth Southgate, Neil Warnock has made a leader on the pitch his first signing?

Was it Neil Cox? But I take your point a leader is the best starting point to rebuild from. And it has worked for us twice before.

I welcome hall, he is a specialist centre half after all. What concerns me is hearing warnock wants 'utility players'...was thinking we have enough of them in howson, saville, mcnair, george, dikjksteel and the like....hope we can get specialist left back, winger and creative midfielder....not another robot like player

Hopefully it's more that he wants players who are good enough footballers to fill in elsewhere if needed rather than "jack of all trades" types.

Even though it may not feel it over the past few years.... we're still an 'attractive club' in the grand scheme of things

Alright not a sleeping giant like Newcastle or Sunderland :p but....

Wembley finals, European Final, League Cup Winners, Promotions, Relegations - all happened for the Boro over the past 25 years or so
