Interesting. Sort of makes sense until you look into the practicalities. Also lots of normal life scenarios not covered.
Whilst I recognize the difficulty in easing lockdown. That article raises more questions than it gives answers. For example, if social distancing is the issue, why did cafes shut in the first instance if they are being asked to open but maintain social distancing. You can visit 1 family member, what about mum and dad, can you visit them, and do you have to visit individually. I don't know. Perhaps once it is formally announced these details will be included but give the wishy washy directives, I don't think they will be.Interesting. "It was also reported today that Public Health England had contacted local councils telling them to drop the ‘stay home’ message from websites before a new slogan is introduced for the next phase."
Shades of "Four Legs Good, Two Legs Bad" becoming "Four Legs Good, Two Legs Better".
I do sympathise with the government over this, but I'd sympathise more if they showed some honesty instead of "we are guided by the science".Social distancing is easy whilst these special measures are in force.
What happens when the measures are relaxed?
At this time you see queues of people waiting outside supermarkets for example that stretch around the shop into a car park, what happens to that queue once the measures are relaxed?
An airline operative has said any social distanced queue for a flight would be a kilometre long, that's a non starter.
A primary school teacher said last week that you cannot practice social distancing in a primary school, staggering days and times will affect the kid's education and social upbringing. He is focussing on hand washing and sanitising.
There is talk of having empty tables separate tables in pubs and restaurants until a vaccine is found, well they may aswell not bother opening back up as the majority of pubs and restaurants in this country are in small buildings with a cosy atmosphere.
But is social distancing the answer? For example, my missus was told today that only 4 people at a time are allowed to use the staff room. More than 4 people work at the care home. But here's the kicker, lots of the residents in the home she works in require assistance that requires TWO people to help, that turns into 3 people including the resident who are not socially distancing. She has also been told that's it's fine to share a car with someone to get to work also as parking is limited. She also made this great point to me this morning,
"How is it that I'm allowed to go to work and speak to people in a close environment or go to the shop and stand in a queue and speak to whoever I want but I'm not allowed to go see my friends or family"
And a quick edit, these people who work in hospitals, hundreds of them in one building, all don't live together and go to sperate homes after a shift. They don't practice social distancing at work (because you can't in a hospital) what gives there? Is social distancing just a measure of more control?
I wouldn't argue with that Keelo, I have very little time for the current leadership. However, that said, an easing of lockdown is very complex. Johnson is not a detail type fella either which isn't great. Still we are following the science so what could go wrong? One word sums up this government....clueless
Announcing relaxing the lockdown on a day more people died than the day they implemented their half hearted lockdown.....makes sense?
CLUELESS......They have no idea whatthey are doing, none! A government led by an incompetent.
Whilst I agree, I don't think the UK are alone. Even the Germans who everyone was lauding as the perfect example of how to do it appear to have been massaging figures, and some estimates suggest that their numbers could be up to 10 times higher in certain places. One word sums up this government....clueless

Any chance we can do away with both the media and Parliament? One thing that seems evident is that all the discussion happens via the Media.
Usually starts with The Telegraph getting the first draft before others pick up on it.
Just makes you wonder why we need Parliament.
So what's the answer then Randy?Social distancing is easy whilst these special measures are in force.

Playing devils advocate here but how the hell do you police this ? Pretty much every individual will have their own routine as it’s so ambiguous.
It’s basically impossible to impose so get on with it and we ‘on paper’ have been dutiful .
