Gove harassed on the street

....by a mob of anti-vaxxers. He doesn't deserve it and they're idiots obviously, but am I alone in thinking he's kind of brought it on himself? I mean, he himself infamously said in the lead up to the Brexit vote that we've had enough of experts, and the government have been dog-whistling the lunatic fringe for their votes for years.

Giving the events of last week not sure that mobbing mp’s is wise. I not gove biggest fan to say the least but you’ve got to feel sorry for him here. I’m not sure we can really say he brought it on himself

Anti vaccine or anti lockdown?

I despise Gove with all my heart, but I don't want him to be killed by a mob or a lone lunatic, because there would be a mass outpouring of grief and history would swiftly be rewritten to show him as a kind and good-hearted family man, and that would be wholly untrue and undeserved.

Whatever it was gove us one of the chief instigators of resurrecting these far right nut jobs along with Johnson Patel raab Davies and redwood et al after bare faced lies associated with the EU because it whips up their base in a mirror image of trump

Did anyone see gove go and interview trump when May kicked him out as a minister ?
It was nauseating watching gove salivating on trumps every word and told you everything about gove
We literally have a fox in charge of the chicken coup

To be fair, I’m mixed on this, Gove has been behind a lot of misery and suffering for thousands if not millions of people.

I’m glad nothing happened to him other than getting a bit of grief, what happened last week was deplorable and I never want to hear of anything like that happening again but is it really that bad that he was the one in fear for a change instead of the misery he has contributed to for the masses. Maybe some of our self serving MPs need to open there eyes a little and realise the country is not just there playground to do what they want with.

Hmmmm, seems to be some pretty significant flirtation with victim blaming going on on this thread and others like it recently. There's a way of expressing disagreement and dissatisfaction and physical and public harassment isnt it - particularly so in light of the heinous murder of the MP last week. Mob mentality is a dangerous thing and the dynamics often cause normally right thinking individuals to unravel and feel empowered and licensed to act according to base instincts and to outdo fellow mob members. Its really unhealthy to show any acceptance of this at all

Agreed.
Just look at the racist morons whipped up by Tommy Robinson and his trumpet-blowers in the media.

Totally out of order at any time but as others have said given what happened in Leigh on Sea last week even more so at the moment, it doesn't matter what side of the political fence you sit on incidents like this do not help foster a better atmosphere of less polarity, the downside is more draconian laws and less access to representatives which further disconnect between the people and Parliament, it's good to see that the police acted promptly to prevent further escalation of a situation that could have tuned ugly.

The right not be rushed by a mob has no political right or left leaning it's simply a case of right from wrong, shout from a distance by all means but there are no circumstances where protest needs to get up close and personal in this way.

Agreed, but you can see it in ANY mob of any political persuasion, tribal allegiance or protest group. Its pretty scary when you watch it and know what youre looking for - essentially a chain reaction or more accurately a disintegration of civilised behaviour into absolute mayhem. Im certain if you could identify the fuse for devotees of the great british bake off it wouldnt take long at all before there was blood in the streets (*disclaimer - mob may contain nuts)

I would hope you are alone in thinking that especially as an MP was murdered just days ago and another murdered 5 years ago.

Gove and his policies has resulted in the resentment and anger many feel in this country. That said, the group were wrong for their approach. Fair enough give the bloke some stick, but don't follow him about and charge him.
