Gordon Ramsey's Bank Balance

While I'm a big fan of quiz shows, jeez this is really bad. (although tbf I said that about House of Games and am kind of loving that now)

I know it's hard to come up with new ideas, but this is just rubbish

Yes the well of ideas is very much dry at the BBC.

It’s only a matter of time before some doyle at the BBC brings back Its a Knockout. With the BBC’s track record they’ll probably still get Stuart Hall to front it

TV is an absolute joke, an utter waste of time on the whole. I won’t watch the BBC anymore but putting that aside every channel now seems to think that the entire viewing population wants to sit and watch a “celebrity” doing something, whether that be hosting a game show, judging something, or taking part in something - seriously I’m not interested in watching said “celebrity” do anything, and it amazes me the number who actually seem to lap up this visual laxative served up as so called entertainment

i think id rather play bamboozled, the gameshow Joey is meant to host on the hit american comedy "Friends"
The rules were mental... ;-)

You think TV dross is confined to UK you are very much mistaken. Have a go at the BBC but you don't have to put up with New Zealand's Government owned Channel TVNZ 1. For example their daily diet of crap includes The Chaser ( UK version) EVERY night between 5-6, the news for an hour ( which does have a very watchable sports correspondent Hayley Holt who is ex Strictly Come Dancing) then at seven the country's equivalent of the One Show called At Seven Sharp with Hillary Barry - a sort of Kiwi Gloria Hunniford. The features on there make The One Show look like Panorama. Pollyfiller galore. Then the Repair Shop and then they launch into the soaps. Thats it.

TVNZ 2 may have the odd film but its terrible. Truly shocking stuff. Sadly all the cricket rights have been given to their satellite broadcaster Spark ( like BT ) who also have the Premier League contract too. No doubt Ramsay's quiz will be shipped off over here when they realise how bad it is over there.

I’ve seen two episodes (argue about the big things accept the little ones) I’m stunned this is on when it is, it’s a three in the afternoon show if ever there was one.

TV researchers have no inagination left. Its - get a personality (and I say that in the loosest sense of the word with Ramsay) then try and fit some kind of format round him. A complete mess.
I won't watch anything now with celebraties involved, enjoy the chase but not celebrity chase, enjoy tipping point etc, etc
It's OTT why there must be enough of the general public watching these programs to continue with em but not for me

Apart from a handful of shows (Gone Fishing, Endeavour) and some sport the old TV channels are pretty much dead to me. Cooking shows, quizzes with the same faces and the doom and gloom news...no thanks.

You’re spot on Abel. I work for an airline so you you can imagine I ‘ve seen plenty of telly around the world and it always amazes me when people knock the BBC, if they doubled the license fee it would still be a bargain.

you've got to remember there is no such thing as a bad idea in tv land. Some chippy young thing suggested putting z listers in mascot costumes and singing a song, an exec signed that off and it has somehow managed to be successful. it's why i encourage my team to suggest any idea, no matter how renegade, the daftest ones sometimes work

As a few have said above people should be careful what they wish for regarding UK TV, especially the BBC, which does still make some quality TV and is head and shoulders above the dross I've seen on domestic TV in other English speaking countries.

I genuinely believe most of these 'celebs' just get shown a script and say 'sign me up'.

I doubt many actually think these ideas are good. You look at some of the cr*p channel 5 dishout. Who thinks up these programs😂

These celebs don't choose to do it, their management does. An industry created of its own greed. Like management consultants: look at your watch, tell you the time, then charge you for the privilege of their 'insight'

I cannot stand the man. He has made a wealthy career out of bullying people for so called 'entertainment' I hope that one day he will reflect on his behaviour and realise that this is not admirable, and certainly not entertainment. He may be a good chef but as for being a good person, that is another matter. And I know which trait/quality/characteristic I would prefer in someone. This show is more rubbish to inflict on the license payer. It would appear if you don't like cooking, dancing, or reality tv programmes with Z list celebrities, and comedy programmes which tick the right 'PC' boxes, you are completely ignored. UTB.
