Good start for Mowbray

It’s going to be a nightmare(y)
Thankfully, it wasn't! I thought it being televised meant we're typically going to be shown up by Mogga's new lads but the injury to their main man up front seemed to change the mood in our favour, and when I heard our crowd who were superb before the game, my feelings changed last minute .. I had money on Sunderland beating us by a couple of goals

I put that on the day before the game, thought it would soften the blow if we lost to them ..

Thankfully, we got the win and kept a clean sheet. What encouraged me most from the game too, was Roberts in goal, he is improving game by game as he deputises for Steffen .. shows we have definitely improved in that department which we have craved for too long until now. Roberts looks far more confident than say, we kept Lumley around for no.2 haha ... no heart-in-the-mouth moments each time the ball is delivered from a set piece!

Also, having been disappointed with Jones for some time now, I thought he was excellent and showed his defensive side to a very high standard last night, though others were texting BBC Tees saying Jones was shocking, this and that .. each to their own!

Also, Dael Fry has to start for me all the time even if Lenihan is fit or not. It has been a concern for me that he seems to have been nudged out by Lenihan in Wilder's plans initially, I hope his performance last night keeps him in the team. He got voted MOTM by the Boro fans on MFC site and I am delighted for him. For me, a successful Boro team has to include Fry,

Onto McGree ,,, has always been said to seemingly have been signed as a replacement with a view to selling Tav, I thought last night he was up to a good standard and I hope he gets up to some consistency, as some games he frustrates the hell out of me and I think we have made a mistake, the next, he shows class and is still young, Let's hope he gets better and better. Superb finish last night.

Muniz is a nightmare up front too, for defenses, Disappointed he didn't get himself another goal last night but does not matter as we got the three points. But you can see straight away the difference in his movement and determination to get on the end of GilesJones work, he will convert a lot of those chances and more,, I am devoed that shot didn't go in that come off the post in his debut as it was superb the way he wrapped his foot around the ball which was going behind him. Would have been one of the finest debut goals I have seen in a Boro shirt!

Our best player so far has been Giles IMO, I was delighted when we signed him and he has been even better than I expected ... his delivery is awesome and I have not seen that for some time, The more Jones improves and gets back to the level we saw last season, I see no reason why we can't go on a proper run now. I hope last night has improved the mood within the camp

Let's see what happens from now ..

I still think Jones is still our best player, works harder than anyone on the team, creates opportunities and tries to score.

They will be around the playoffs, they have a great young squad and have done very well in the window. Not sure what Neil was thinking leaving them for Stoke
His thinking can be explained easily. There was once a TV programme called Double Your Money.
