Good read re Boro's recruitment.

Very good read thanks for posting, we do seem as if we are slowly getting our act together behind the scenes and working to a well thought out and cohesive plan.
This is why the Carrick 'when will he leave' stuff doesn't bother me. Sure, its going brilliantly at the moment and he's doing a fantastic job, but we should maybe consider that maybe the 'long term plan' many wanted with the Recruitment team etc is actually working. Too many folk judged it during its infancy, under a 'head coach' who clearly didn't feel settled in that system and didn't really want to be here.

Excellent.
Especially love this sentence in the opening paragraph...

"Their path takes them past the New River Sports Centre where, unknown to all, a third major English club — who may be in the Premier League again next season — is studying a different kind of football."

That`s something coming from "The Athletic" - who know what they are talking about.

I'd be very surprised that if the Wilder debacle the club didn't already have a list of names shelved. Scott seems to really have his act together and clearly a very good planner.
He's one of the reasons I think Carrick stays, rare in football you get a DOF who isn't all me,me,me
