Good article on the Russian Economy imploding

Sorry Muttley, I forgot you were an expert on all things Putin and Russia. You asked for an idea after I suggested negotiation is the way out of this war, as it is with most conflicts. Seems you'll be happy with the violent resolution. Unfortunately that's not going to work for my family, I haven't dug a bunker in my back yard yet.

I can't see Ukraine beating back Russian forces without direct intervention from NATO countries. As in soldiers on the ground.

Meanwhile Zelinsky can sell a few more magazine exclusives and appeal to a crowd of ***ed up teenagers at a festival for more support. His pleas for direct help from Johnson, Macron and Biden have fallen on deaf ears.
Oh I'm a long way from being an expert on anything. But I do read up on such things and try to think things through.

Ultimately war has to end through negotiation. But you have to get both parties to negotiate and given the demands from Putin and his actions in invading the country in the first place that is enough to show that he will not be currently willing to accept much short of complete capitulation of Ukraine. They thought that they would be welcomed into the country, they are finding the reality of their "welcome" is a lot different.

Don't call me "happy with the violent resolution", pathetic response. Debate if you've got the wit.

How do you know Putin isn't willing to negotiate? You don't and neither do I.

Negotiation is the only way to stop the bloodshed AND the economic damage to us all.

Oh Putin would love to negotiate, but right now Ukrainians would find his terms utterly unacceptable as they would be ceding territory and who knows what else.

The time may yet come though Randy, here’s hoping.

He doesn't want to negotiate, he is a liar and completely untrustworthy.

Remember when he said they army were just conducting training exercises and he wasn't going to invade Ukraine? Indeed he mockingly laughed at the paranoia of the West. Yep, he invaded literally days later.

He can't be negotiated with, he doesn't want to negotiate and his propaganda is sadly fooling a decent chunk of the Russian people that the war is just.

I understand completely why you don't want to get into a war, no sane person does. War absolutely has to be the last resort. However, you need to open your eyes and realise negotiation is not an option with Putin.

The course we are on, however tough it us on the rest of the world including us, is the only option. Appeasement will certainly lead to a much, much bigger war and that's something none of us want, believe me.

Remember what Einsten said (and I'm paraphrasing] but it was along the lines of not knowing what weapons WW3 will be fought with, but WW4 will be fought with sticks and stones. That could be the reality if we appease Putin.
