Golf is back

Hope you enjoyed it. We are stepping up a gear now. In a 4 ball for18 holes tomorrow with 2 friends (married couple - sharing a buggy). Then after a day off on Monday we have another 18 holes with a different friend on Tuesday.

Is the muni accepting pay and play or is it season tickets only? I usually play with friends at Wilton on a twilight ticket but it’s members only at the moment

Well organised at the Muni today and the course is in superb condition.

I thought the times between tee times could be extended a bit, got congested around the 10th and was laid on the grass 10mins waiting

I’m playing tomorrow morning, 3rd round in 5 days. First round on Wednesday it genuinely felt like the last 2 months hadnt happened as I strolled down the fairway on the first hole.
Our course has been jam packed, every tee time taken from 7.30am to 6.30pm, but I’ve never got anywhere near anyone. Delighted golf is back and to have a bit of normality in my life!

Fourth game in four days at Teesside (and playing tomorrow)! Was two down after 9 but played the back 9 in 4 over to take the £1 off my mate!

Went off at 12.30, i think 3 infront of us had a mobility scooter so that's what help us up a bit.. Got the last tee time tomorrow so able to take my time and have a few tee shots

3rd round in 5 days completed this morning, shot my equal best score as well, including a stunning birdie on the 4th hardest hole on the course for a net hole in 1. I bloody love golf

Played a 4 ball with friends today. Ended up playing pairs match play with me being generous and giving full difference shots rather than 90%. We played off our society rather than official handicaps.

Normally the missus plays with the husband of the pair. I play with his wife.

The missus was very disappointed with her first 9 holes back playing last Tuesday. So she said we should play couples against couples.

She has a 12.2 society handicap . Which on our course gives her 17 shots playing off the red tees. As our course is a difficult one for the ladies. (Watch out for a thing called a slope table coming your way when the world handicap system comes to the UK.)

We beat them 4 & 3.

She scored 36 stableford points. 21 on the front and 15 on the back 9. I did not win a hole until I birdied the 17th. After the match was over.

Another 18 holes scheduled for Tuesday with a different friend. Plus a rematch of today scheduled for Friday. Happy days.

JRD if you can hit the driving iron I won't be asking you to my club near York - just too good for me but enjoy the new clubs.

Playing Sun,Tue and Thurs next week.

I used to be able to hit s driving iron. Unfortunately i’ve had a bad elbow injury and have been working to fix my game. I won both clubs in bonus balls so im going to see how it goes.

My wife, daughter and I were out walking yesterday and we skirted 3 sides of our local golf course. I only saw 2 pairs out playing, which did surprise me.

Just got back. Played beautifully today but messed up 17 & 18 to finish 10 over (5 shots lost in those 2 holes) It’s great to be back.

I was a bit rusty first 2 holes, then it was mainly bogeys with a few pars and the odd 8 thrown in.

The Ping G410 crossover driving 2 iron worked a treat. Hit it straight and 200+ yards consistently. Helped me stay on the fairway.

Lovely 18 holes yesterday with my wife and a friend. This time it was my turn to do ok. I was playing off my society handicap of 9.3 (official one is just over 7 if I remember rightly).

9.3 gives me 12 shots as my playing handicap. Using the slope table for the course off the yellow tees.

Went round in 81 shots on a par 72 course. 39 points on my second 18 hole round. Well happy.

The only disappointment is I pushed a drive into the trees on the par 5 14th hole. Lost the ball so had to take my provisional. Ended up with an 8 on a par 5 with a shot. Only hole I did not get any stableford points on.
