Gold Season Card Holders

We haven't heard yet how the concourses will work. Some fans are fearful of the concourses and having to cross through them to get to their seats.

Yes Rob I could understand that if there were crowds but with 9k spread out over an entire stadium I think the club should be able to sort something here otherwise the finances suffer even further.

I think you over estimate how much profit they'll make from the food and drink they sell in the concourses.

Thanks for the info Rob, but this should have come from the club officially at the start.

An appalling communications failure from MFC.

I don't know the answer about the credit against 21/22 season card.
Drinks vouchers - one question that the new supporters club have put to the club is what should we expect about the concourse next season? It is a good question isn't it. Will the concourses be closed or only partially opened etc. They will be governed by guidance they receive. Hard to see any free drinks. Perhaps it could be an opportunity to trial drinking inside the seats of a stadium - if no away fans and no concourse open. Just thinking out loud here.

"Perhaps it could be an opportunity to trial drinking inside the seats of a stadium"

This should never ever happen.

It will be ***ed up blokes backwards and forward every 2 minutes, going to the bar, then the bogs.

The day this is allowed I'll stop going.

And don't say it works in Rugby. I've been to Rugby internationals and its horrendous.

FFS can people not last 45 minutes without a drink? (Speaking as someone who is partial to a drink!)

but it does work that way in nfl games at Wembley and it’s completely fine

Nowhere did I estimate how much profit. However they clearly do make a profit so any loss of profit is going to be negative.

Of course it is, but it's a drop in the ocean compared to the sums the club work in. Buy Fletchers right ankle for a week or something like that...

It’s still worth having!

I don't recall saying it wasn't, however given the challenges the club have at the moment is it really that a high priority?

I'd rather they concentrated on how to keep the 8k safe, especially coming to and from the ground, or how they communicate the current status with the fans (not just using Rob), rather than how they can sell them a flat half of lager at half time.

But as I'm saying, if bars and restaurants etc are safe serving food and drink I do not see how the concourse couldn't be made safe especially with such reduced numbers.

It is possible to do both Lizards.
I don't care if I never get another free drink, or can't buy a drink or pie in this short term situation, but the Club will be looking at whether they can safely and profitably offer product. The profit might be relatively small, but absolutely important.

Blimey, it's really not worth this much typing over.

I didn't say they couldn't do both, however we know that the non playing side of the club is ran in a very lean way and therefore priorities will need to be made. The club aren't great and engaging with fans at the best of times, nor in delivering the "fan experience", and so it's unlikely they're going to be completely on top of everything in these strange times, and so priorities will need to be made.

The profit they will make is very small, no one is arguing it doesn't count just that it's not THAT important. If they can open the food and drink stalls then great, but it's not going to be the difference between a new striker or not. Primus made the point that the "finances would suffer" and of course he's right, but let's no pretend that it would be a material difference here - that was the only point I was making.

It might be enough to keep some people employed.
You are clearly a highly intelligent fella, in very well paid employment.
I think it can be easy to forget how small a business MFC really is - particularly without Sky media outside the prem.
Not having a go.

The concourse is an enclosed generally standing only area so social distancing will be difficult therefore I doubt they will open the bars.

Similar to many busy bars then?...

How would social distancing be difficult with only 9k fans spread out across the whole stadium?!

I think we have gone off at a tangent really.
We need to get on track thinking around what we need to know about next season as far as who will be able to watch, when they might be able to watch and what happens for the rest of the crowd how does everyone stay in the loop etc.

I think you are spot on - how do we make it work if only for a season?
What about the Barcelona system where if you can’t go to a match you can make your seat available for someone else? A lot of season card holders in the west upper miss night matches and televised matches - why not make these seats available?

HC - could that fit in with track and trace - that would be a really important thing to think about - especially when we see pandemic alerts for Middlesbrough today.

So that’s it the club are just going to sack (this season) the other season ticket holders off because 4500 none gold card holders have renew first. Plenty of fans I know have been waiting for the club to release details on how fans would be allow into the ground. Never thinking it would come down to suspending the season tickets without any notice.
