liked the cartoon, except the last image, doesn't quite get the 'leaving early' vibe.. I'd have gone with a lone roadsweep in a sea of carboard & plastic beer cups & 'Keep Britain Tidy' / Recycle billboards..

Personally I find this to be a graphical version of the boomer "I grew up on a council estate and drank water out of the hosepipe" copy and paste jobs that go round Facebook now and then

He could have done that but I think his main point with that final image is how times have changed when thousands left factories on Saturday morning to go straight to the match compared with todays consumerism and those converted London factories in the background. I am pretty sure in Lowry's day the streets had their fair share of litter.
