Give a Coat a Home - that's the call to help those in need keep warm as autumn and winter approach.
Used coats are currently being collected across Middlesbrough, before being handed out at a special event later this month.
The initiative is being led by Linthorpe ward Councillor Philippa Storey and Newport ward Councillor Chris Cooke who were inspired by a rise in online requests for help.
A one-off event on Saturday, September 25 will see the coats distributed to those calling in at the pop-up shop in the Carriage Driveway in the Town Hall.
They'll be available to anyone who needs one, with coats arranged in age groups.
Members of the public are invited to donate unwanted coats in good condition ahead of the even on September 25 to allow time for them to be sorted.
The donation points are:
"We were inspired by a rise in the number of people asking for coats for children and adults, and wanted to do something to help.
"There must thousands for perfectly good, warm coats out there that are simply going unused, so Give a Coat a Home is a chance for those who might be struggling to pick up an excellent condition pre-loved coat for free."
For advice for clinically extremely vulnerable residents call Middlesbrough Council's support line on 01642 729777
