Giles v Jones

Deliverywise it is not a contest , jonah repeatedly plays that low ball,, fine when it works but seems to be read all the time lately , Giles however the delivery and variation is superb , if jonah can work on variation a bit more we have some pair of WB's here . Get the right forwards in & they may have a field day with these 2

Giles by a mile so far. Jones more often has a hand in goals at the wrong end of the pitch atm.

I'm hopeful that Wilder will soon have that sorted.

He burst onto the scene last year but he has a lot to learn. Hopefully the coaches can work on his crossing, variation etc. I’m sure he’ll get there but fell below his own high standards yesterday!

Jones was very disappointing in the first half. His give away led to the first goal and after that he was barely above average.

Jones has a great ball in, (man utd, Reading x2) its a bit puzzling why he seems to have reverted to playing it along the floor. Hopefully get decent forwards in and he'll start whipping crosses too.

I'd hope he learns a lot from watching Giles. Seems the type who would pay attention to that sort of stuff - he'll work out why Giles seems to be the assist king so far.

If we get to a point where the supply from each wing is of a similar standard, then regardless of solving other midfield issues, we'd be a hell of a proposition going forwards.

Bit worried about Jones to be honest. Hopefully he can find his best form again but otherwise Djiksteel could be a decent option 🤔. On the other hand some of Giles crosses are sublime

His greatest strength was to take people on and get past them. Seems to go for the soft option lately and pass back. He may have been told to do that. dunno

Anyone else see the football factory documentary on sky. It showed the hardship at the club tooting and mitcham Jones pathway. Hope he pushes on this season once we have a settled side

GIles reminds me of Downing, we haven't had anyone with a left foot wand like that for years. He really is excellent. If we go up, and its a big if, he would be the first player i'd want us to retain because i can see him in a top 4 side before long.

Don't forget that having nobody worth crossing to will be impacting Jones. Giles just hasn't worked out it's a waste of time trying yet.

Giles does cross too much though at times as he hits it in the box when they isn't anyone there they isn't a ball to be played.
