Gibson backs his man and we get

4 points out of 6, and it was very nearly 6 out of 6, where are all the people to give Gibson some credit in equal volume to when they want to blame him for everything?

Credit for what?

I take your point about some of the vitriol aimed at him but are you seriously suggesting that his press release has been a significant contributer to the win today?

Credit for what?

Survival is the absolute bare minimum we should expect with this squad of players.

What the feck has Gibson done to make our season so wonderful? If you think his speech created a new hope, a new stoicism then it may be time to stick two pencil’s up your nostrils and shout wibble :)

Any credit goes to the players and the head coach in reality.

He has bought time certainly. Doubts still remain. Having coached the team last year he thought his players could play a pressing style 433. A lot of fans thought the players didnt have the necessary pace, skill or intelligence to do it. I think the fans were right. He said there were goals in the team, yet we are the lowest scorers in the league. His PowerPoint presentation with Dijksteel, Bola and Browne ripping it up has been shown to be flawed as he has sent 2 of them back to their old clubs as in my view he does not have the ability to coach them in the way he wants them to play for us. I would’nt say his January signings have been that much of a success, given our results. I very much doubt his ability to identify the right players for such a radical rebuild in the summer and up until recently his constant swapping of players and formation has been detrimental to players development and result. Time will tell and I will be the happiest man alive to be proved wrong as that would mean Boro are doing well.

We have no hope with woody in charge there’s nothing to be positive about other than hoping not to get relegated.

That’s the evidence of our ambition until woody leaves .

👍
Woody deserves a rare weekend when he won't stop rewinding the winning goal, he'll be smiling the whole weekend, & buzzing & I for one are so happy for him
Me too, I have a lot of compassion for one of our own and hope he succeeds. I could see him suffering. I wouldn't wish being a football manager on anyone, especially with online toxic views and almost suicidal bipolar extreme view swings. The poor sod has had zero luck as a manager with an injury nightmare at times and players with 2 left feet at times. I don't give a hoot about the suicide squad, he gets my support even if we go down ❤️

Good win today against a poor Charlton team. Stojanovic and Moukoudi were very good. The latter especially in the first half. Coulson played well, but Gestede never really got into the game. Wing had quite a few good opportunities in the second half but never quite hit the target. Long walk from O2 to ground. £9 for a beer and a plastic bottle of cider.

No mention of Tav who was particularly wasteful with good opportunities. ooor decision making and greedy.on the ball.

if Charlton has nicked that point at the end imagine we would all have a different mood.
As it is Roberts is back soon and on the back of yesterday’s win let’s see us push on to mid table with the last 9 games.

I was furious when I read Gibson’s interview in the Gazette. I really thought Woodgate needed to go and the rumours swirling of him getting the boot if we failed to beat Leeds/Forest were out of the window when Gibson said he would back him no matter what. But actually what he said has worked (on me). No point directing all my energy hoping Woodgate would go, listening to the rumours, all we can do now is get behind the team. Maybe it’s just me but it does feel like the pressure has lifted a bit.

What better feeling than see a Boro lad triumph at our club
I genuinely believe if Willie Maddren was managing the Boro under normal conditions instead of a car crash of a club back then, then he would have tasted success, in that I mean possible promotion, or challenging promotion, he certainly knew a player
I honestly think with 12 months under him Woodgate can push on as a Boro manager
I enjoyed listening to his interview after becoming Boro manager & yes he struggled, but which manager is guaranteed success

I didn't want Woodgate as manager, but he was dealt a poor hand.
He's been worse than I expected however and hasn't got even got the parts all moving, let alone got a whole that is greater than their sum.
Gibson is the one who has to take responsibility.
Still, a win is a win and I was elated at full time yesterday. I just hope it kick starts a recovery that lasts.

It's a step on the road to survival, but it's far too early to start celebrating.

We had a good weekend where results went our way, one bad weekend and we'll be back in it. There are 8 teams trying to avoid the drop and there's still a hell of a lot of work to do for all of them. Aside from Hull, all the others have been and still are in better form over the last 8 games.

It's about fighting tooth and nail for everything right now and despite yesterday's brilliant result, we still need those players who probably know they won't be here next season to put the effort in, be they loaners or those out of contract. Gibson himself signalled that the squad will be very different come next season regardless. The confidence from the Charlton game could evaporate with a defeat next week so nobody can relax right now.

The last 2 games we have shown improvement, bad form & good form can turn in an instant, hopefully the good form is with us
Up until Forest equalised I was actually thinking we've started to turn the corner as luck is, starting to smile on us as two Forest corners when the ball was bouncing about in our penalty area & bouncing off players to go the outside of the post, as opposed to the inside of the post, as happens when you're at the bottom
We conceded at the end though, yesterday we didn't
