Get Back

Guardian's review is not particularly favourable at all. Mainly questioning its length (almost 8 hours).

My wife is out tomorrow evening so I might try and do it in one sitting (!) - wish me luck!

Think you'll have to wait until Saturday as the third and final episode isn't available until after midnight then.

I thought the first episode was absolutely fantastic. Watching McCartney just tinkering with his bass and Get Back coming out from nowhere was just magical.

This was the time when popular wisdom would have it that tension was high and the Beatles were all at each other’s throats, not together, hating each other and their partners.

Looks to me like this was far from the case and together, creating, playing, when it was about the music, they were in their element, sparkling and getting along supremely well.

As Ringo has always maintained, "As soon as we were working on a good track, then all that other bullsh*t went out of the window.'

Yep, just realised this - maybe I'll do the first one tonight.

I had a very quick flick through this morning, looks absolutely brilliant.

Is there anyway else to watch it a part from Disney Plus?

On its way. Looks like a brilliant watch for any fan of the Fabs...

I'm half way through the 1st episode and it's great to see these classic songs taking shape from scratch and the whole process involving all of them pitching in.

Great fly on the wall stuff with McCartney complaining to the rest of the band that's he's sick of being considered the leader for the last two years and it didn't look like any off the others were interested in taking the mantle.

The first one is 2:36:41 long.

I'm currently at 1:37:13 and will watch it at least once more before the 2nd one comes out.

Disney plus was like £1:99 for a month a few days ago when I subscribed. I just unsubscribe immediately afterwards if ever I sign up to one of these streaming things. Can usually watch all I want on them in a month.
Yeah I'll probs do the same.. subscribe for a month then bin it - unless I get heavily into watching Beauty and the Beast or something :ROFLMAO: (y)

Just finished the 3 episodes.

Simply fantastic (understatement) and reiterates my own opinion that The Beatles are the Greatest Band , ever.

I`m glad the Yoko myth has now been put to bed, pleased for her.

Could watch it over and over if I`m honest, also loved seeing "Get Back" and "Let it Be" being born

I thik that is pretty much what caused them to break up. Paul McCartney filled the power vacuum because Ringo was too chill, George was meek, and Lennon was too full of imposter syndrome to actually take charge and focus the band. But this changed the dynamics and Paul become the Gaffer instead of the Captain. Kind of like when Southgate became manager and fell out with Parlour and Boateng.

I think the whole project was superb, really captures the creative process, from Paul in a real creative groove, to John hitting a wall, struggling to concentrate and doing things at home then bringing them in nearly done. It captures the dynamics of keeping a dysfunctional family to together of growing up with the pressures of fame and the tabloid press, I was absolutely fascinated.
