Get Back

I'd like to thank you all for coming and hope that we passed the audition or words to that effect.
The Beatles is such a good story, it's almost part of folklore. You don't get that with other bands. No parody movies. No episodes of the Simpsons. Not classic Simpsons anyway.

You haven't seen The Rutles. Neil Innes was amazing. The best track The Beatles didn't write. I must be in love.

All 57 tracks from the super deluxe box set are on youtube, it's fantastic listening to the banter between them. Videos 1-12 are the remix of the original album tracks, start at track 13 to get rehearsals, jams etc

Get back is a brilliant tune, but overall I'm not really a fan of the Beatles. Much prefer the Rolling Stones and listen to their stuff frequently.

most of the Beatles LPs are a great listen, Fav is Revolver .... tried loads of times to get into the white double LP but struggle to enjoy it ,

I personally much prefer Let It Be ... Naked to the original. But then 'You know my name' is my favourite beatles track so who knows if I'm right.

I always found Let It Be to be the worst album, apart from the first couple with plenty of covers.

From Help onwards, I think Let It Be is by far the worst offering. Still, I will look forward to watching the film, the footage looks great.

If only we had such footage from the albums between 66 and 68 it would be great, or even the Abbey Road album.

Considering Abbey Road was the last album recorded in the studio but actually released before Let It Be ,then I always get the feeling the Beatles knew that Let It Be wasn’t really a great album and that’s why it was pretty much released after the break up after it had been put on the back burner while they made Abbey Road instead.

The White Album could arguably have been their best album if it was streamlined a bit, it has some of their best songs stuck between a lot of filler. But I suppose it being so bloated and so many tracks is part of the character of the album.

I might be misreading both Sheriff's post and your response, but I thought he meant that The Beatles were unique in having a parody movie and Simpsons episodes. So probably has seen the Rutles.

I heard the other day that their name is spelled Beatles and not Beetles as it incorporates the word 'beat'.
Don't know if it's true but seems obvious.

From a German expert in Berlin on some TV travel programme, can't remember which programme. Maybe Russell Howard's?

Yes, it was John's idea, mimicking the Crickets but adding the 'a' to Beetles as a pun on beat music.

I hadn't even noticed that it was spelled wrong until I saw someone on TV talking about it yet, If I had written the word in some primary school work in the 60's I would have known the correct spelling I think.
