Does anyone know of any such classes?? Cant see eff all online. been using Duolingo for a while but want to start doing it properly and conversing with someone

Well Boro is twinned with Oberhausen and Redcar&C twinned with Troisdorf so if all else fails , get on FB and look up groups from those towns and offer if someone would like to learn some Burra in exchange

If only this was 15 years ago, I used to be the only private tutor in the TS area that I could see doing German conversation classes.

I used to advertise on Gumtree, you could try somewhere like that

Do schools and colleges no longer do night classes?
Years ago my next door neighbour was a German teacher and she used to run children's courses for the local kids. She also taught German at the Bulkhaul offices.
Linthorpe Village community centre used to have Saturday morning conversation sessions for people of all levels from learner to fluent. Not sure if anything like that happens anymore.

I've occasionally wondered about that myself. In any large town you could usually find a course on most subjects to study as a hobby in the evenings. And the Open University? Have they all become victims of cost-cutting? Asking as a foreigner.
