George ElliottJust had a ride down there. It looks absolutely outstanding! Hats off to the sculpture. When you see some of these sculptures of players that look ridiculous, you always have a little worry! . All three of them look great (though we need another one now to even it out ).
Looks much better!Just realised too (it's probably been stated a million times). that they'e changed the plinths on the previous two!

Minor query.... Camsell's statue has a shirt number. '9' of course. But did they have numbers in 1926/27 when he set the record, or when he played for England?
No they didn't. Brought in during the 1930s. So he will have played with 9 on his back for Boro. They were aware of this but wanted him to stand proud as Boro's greatest no9.Minor query.... Climbing into a space rocket? Sweeeeet.what about Bruce .... what he did during those dark days was incredible , maybe a joint one with Mogga on same plinth
Think we could stake a claim for naming stands after iconic management figures.Climbing into a space rocket? Sweeeeet.
Anyone know if Lennie lives in the area he was on the same flight as me a couple of months ago from Malaga to Newcastle ?Great seeing the old boys and Lennie was there as well.
Great shout, Willie Maddren, now that is a must, in my time, our best ever defenderLooked like a fantastic occasion. Wonderful to see some absolute legends turn up for the occasion too. I think George Camsell is an unsung hero in the history of our football club in terms of his years of commitment on the same level as the late, great Harold Shepherdson and latterly the superb Ron Bone.
Think the next statue should be Willie Maddren realistically, although we could do with a rename of the North Stand after a former player too IMO.
Yes, Lennie's moved back up here. Was lucky enough not just to meet him last night but also interview him. Great bloke.Anyone know if Lennie lives in the area he was on the same flight as me a couple of months ago from Malaga to Newcastle ?

That’s right and he’s in his Boro kit. You might notice the slight red patination to the. Bronze in daylight. The detail is phenomenal and we are delighted with his statue. No they didn't.
