Geoff, someone who I would guess we all respected, plummeted in my estimation this morning.
On radio 4, ostensibly to talk about the many incidents of dementia in footballers, used the platform to constantly push "smart meters".
Profiteering of the worst order.

I met him in Dubai, what a grumpy man he was. Ron Atkinson and Jeremy Guscott on the other hand were very friendly and forthcoming at the same "do".

Not sure if he has money in there or maybe he is just getting a bung to push them.
Every time he was asked about possible links to dementia from football he replied, "thats why we all need smart meters"

He's not really disgraceful though is he? Imagine getting wound up by an 80 year old footballer!

But on the other hand, he said he will leave his brain to science when he passes so they can study it with relation to helping Dementia and spoke really well about young people, football, heading in training, his former team mates who suffered dementia etc etc. You took what is possibly one negative and missed all of the good things he said.

It’s a shame - different times - imagine if he has his success in the modern era he would have pots of cash. Everybody has to make a living!
