Gdansk

Great City. Plenty of nice restaurants and bars and the WW2 museum is well worth a visit. Sopot isn't far and is a great little town, with a nice beach and jetty.

We went to a gun range when we were there and spent the afternoon shooting AK47's, which was good fun.

Aye I’ve heard Sopot is lovely and the weather is supposed to be nice so we’re doing that on Thursday.

Doubt our lass with be into the guns but I’ll float the idea 😂

We also did airsoft in a disused hospital. It was my stag do and I had to wear a Sunderland shirt. Was a little concerned when all these big Polish lads turned up with their own kit and guns. Fair to say I was an easy target and still have the scars.

Who you flying with scrug ? Fancy doing gdansk this year so let me know how it goes

Got to the Gdansk Hotel bar. They brew their own beer and we spent an afternoon there. The beer is strong, by the way.

Ryanair, only took about 1 hour 50. Bit awkward when you get here to get into Gdansk if you stupidly (like me) try and use the train, but an Uber into the centre is only £8.

Cat head multi tap is a good bar for ales. Next to Raddisson Blu hotel. Also bar pixel which is behind the white rabbit steak house. If you want a cheap drink with the locals, bar kino ( think thats what it’s called) cinema themed. If you’re into history, take the boat down to Westerplatte. Or if you want the journey, there’s a death camp called Stutthoff which is free to go in, but it’s an 80 minute bus ride

Gdansk is brilliant. Pretty cheap, the old town is lovely yet the new buildings in the area are nicely done to fit in with that style.
Number one I reckon is the Solidarity museum. Poignant for me, because I'm of that cold war age but it's a fantastic monument to Solidarity and the very start of fall of Communism. A bit of a walk from town but well worth it

Get pierogi from Pierogarnia Stary Mlyn Gdansk. Bluddy lovely, just don't get the sweet ones!

A train to Sopot is about two quid and certainly worth it. Sopot is great and the train ride takes you past a load of cold war Russian concrete buildings in Gdansk outskirts which gives a feel of how those decades must've been for the average Pole
