GB NEWS

As I mentioned earlier, I watched for 20 minutes. They were talking about the booing at Wembley yesterday. One of the presenters said "Although I don't support BLM, why do these people continue to boo". There was then an interview with Priti Patel talking about immigration. She didn't say anything that I haven't heard elsewhere.

I also made comments about the style and presentation of the programme.
Will give it a watch this evening.

Rod Liddle has just been on talking absolute twaddle about taking the knee and smoking a ciggie live on tv. Don't think I'll be tuning in again.

I'm sure the presenter used to do the showbiz stuff for good morning tv - hardly a heavy hitting politico.

Watched two features and was appalled at the positive reinforcement of the "party line". No balance or debate and the presenters add to the reinforcement in the summing up.

They have Liddle on as well? Haha they have truly got all the populist journalists to come to their party. No way will that be a balanced channel.

Well at least you watched it and criticised, I always thought AN was a fair minded bloke over the years, but it seems his right wing political views have been bottled up and finally exploded out.
I read thet he lives in France and the channel is funded from the USA. All a bit worrying
It was the Dan Wooton rant on opening night that really confirmed that it was going to be exactly as people warned it would be, completely one sided, agenda driven, unbalanced and full of prominent presenters and mainstream media personalities who have been on telly and in printed press spouting their opinions in full public view for years, complaining about….. having no platform from which to voice their opinions or be heard..….
That said, it was quite funny when that Scottish lady, the one with the lovely hair who likes walks along the beach, was whinging about being silenced and their microphone cut out.

They saw a gap in the market and an opportunity to further make some coin from a certain type of person, and they took it.

So is it the British version of Fox news?

I was surprised to see the opening night figures. obviously there is a bit of the novelty factor but they must be pleased.

"The launch of GB News was watched by more people than both the BBC News channel and Sky News despite several technical glitches on opening night, according to data released on Monday."

1.3% apparently compared with BBC news at 0.9%. But the BBC 10pm news had over 30% which presumably ate into the BBC news figures a bit. Looks a total disaster already. A disgraceful pretence of being a "news" programme that will only last longer than a year if it's losses are funded by extreme right wing organisations.

You don't like them do you? ;)

Agreed. I still welcome a different view

I watch RT and Al Jazeera and they are totally different to Sky, BBC etc. GB News are no different.
Al Jazeera is an excellent news channel. I also listen to Chinese news to see the slant they feed to their populus. The people/views on GB news get a hearing on other media (even if the claim they don't) and I don't want a news channel that is more synonomous of dictatorial state media.
