Betenelli (G:azette:5, Mart:5) - Was pretty flappy most of the season
Archer (G:6, Mart 6) - yes was ok, nothing special but had more confidence about him, I'd be fine with him as backup next year
Dijksteel (g:7, Mart:7) - would have been 8 if he had played more games
Fisher (g:6, Mart:5) - had a brilliant debut but was poor after that, out of position regularly, I'll give him another chance next year as he was playing with an injury
Spence (G:5, Mart:3) - very poor season, played a lot of games, only McNair, Howson, Bola and Bet played more, yet I struggle to remember more then 3 positive things he did.
Hall (G:7, Mart:7) - 8 on performance downgraded to 7 for injury
Fry (G:8, Mart:8) - to kick on to a 9 he needs to stay fit and improve his distribution
McNair (G:8, M:7) - marked 9 on dead balls, 8 on passing, 5 on defending, average a low 7
Bola (g:7, Mart:8) - played far and above what I thought he could
Howson (G:8, Mart:6) - was like watching someone trying to run in wellies
Morsy (G:7, Mart:7) - promising, needs to keep fit
Saville (G:7, Mart:6) - scored a few goals, but was anonymous in most games
Wing (G:6, Mart:4) - don't care what he did for Rotherham he was poor for u
Johnson (G:7, Mart:7) - good squad player
Tav (G:8, Mart:8) - best player at the club, just staying fit would make him a 9 next year
Kebano (G:7, Mart:7) - fair enough
Bolasie (G:7, Mart 7) - effective, but also tripped over himself and was a bit greedy
Watmore (G:8, Mart:9) - top scorer despite only playing half a season, always worked hard and eager to try
Browne (G:6, Mart:5) - not his fault, high hopes for him as his season was ruined when he looked confident
NML (G:5, Mart:6) - showed some good touches, but needs to be fitter
Coulson (G:5, Mart:3) - ineffective
Britt (G:5, Mart:2) - awful player, awful performances
Akpom (G:5, Mart:5) - powderpuff
Fletcher (G:6, Mart:4) - I liked him, but didn't like his lack of effort at end of season and missed most injured

Bettinelli - Solid start but exposed by injuries to defenders and lost confidence completely. 5
Archer - Nothing to say about him really. 5
Dijksteel - A number of very good performances and really looking forward to seeing him develop again. 7
Fisher - Strong start, looks a decent squad player, very dogged but faded away. 6(or 5.5)
Spence - Spent too much time playing as a winger or a full back, switched off a few times but still learning. 6(or 5.5)
Fry - Quality player for us. 8
Hall - Great start after coming back from injury, faded slightly along with the rest of the team. 7
McNair - Very good season for us, put in some outstanding deliveries from dead balls, would prefer to see him midfield. 8
Bola - Excellent season overall, faded away and seemed to lose a bit of form near the end as his position was altered. 7
Johnson - Productive, unfortunate not to start more games, a good outlet off the bench IMO. 6(or 6.5)
Saville - Works hard enough, or did until the last few games. Chips in. Could offer more. 6
Tav - Our best central midfielder by a country mile. 8
Howson - Works hard, doesn't offer much else when the team are playing a direct style. 6
Morsy - Accomplished first season, loves a bit of needle, strong in the tackle, nice touch at times as well. 8(or 7.5)
Browne - Shame he got injured, could've been useful for us. 6(or 5.5)
Wing - Did he play enough to merit a comment or rating? 5
Mendez-Laing - Not fit enough but interesting player for next season. 6(or 5.5)
Watmore - Excellent season, brilliant attitude. 8
Kebano - Nice touch and close control, shame he had no strikers to pass to. 7(or 6.5)
Bolasie - Nice touch and close control, very strong on the ball, shame he had no strikers to pass to. 7
Coulson - Anonymous really. Can only remember Norwich, unfortunately for him. 4
Assombalonga - Poor. 3
Fletcher - Poor but not helped by injuries. 4
Akpom - Poor. 4

I would say quite a few of the 6s could've been 6.5, 8s could've been 7.5 but rated up rather than down. I think a couple of my ratings are probably a bit generous. It is easy to forget we finished 10th in the second division sometimes.

Bettinelli - 4. Didn't make saves, did let in a lot of very saveable goals.
Archer - 6. Steady and not enough matches to say otherwise.
Dijksteel - 7. Played part of the season suggesting there is a very good defender in there.
Fisher - 5.5 Disappointing after a promising debut.
Spence - 3.5 He is a poor defender, lacks concentration and does nothing in the final third.
Fry - 8. Easily our most important defender, can go on to be top class and matured incredibly.
Hall - 7. Solid dependable partner for Fry hopefully. Fitness needs nurturing.
McNair - 7 for his performances in the first half of the season, but can only play in a 5 and we should play a back 4. Good dead ball delivery is by far his biggest quality.
Bola - 7. Excellent until February. Should never play in a back 3, he is a very good full back.
Johnson - 5.5. Effort doesn't deserve to be a 5, ability doesn't warrant a 6.
Saville - 4.5. This bloke is ponderous, slows us down and should be sold. Plays in treacle.
Tav - 8. Energy, drive, commitment and no little ability. He can be a major player in this league. So glad we have him.
Howson - 6. Faded badly the more Warnock talked him up. Has class, doesn't show it nearly enough.
Morsy - 7. Promising first season. Does what nobody else can in our squad. Will get more important.
Browne - N/A. Not fit long enough, though there is some promise. Wish him luck.
Wing - 4. He was having a shocker every single week. Glad he rallied at Rotherham, but no way back.
Mendez-Laing - 5. Had less impact than I hoped and expected. Miles off ever being fit.
Watmore - 8.5. Fabulous effort, appetite and loads of ability. I wish we had a squad with his attitude.
Kebano - 6.5. Touches of class, but not enough impact or end product.
Bolasie - 7. Obvious effort, brought some excitement, but very rusty. Not worth a huge wage.
Coulson - 4. Tries, has some skill, but nothing comes from his effort and prone to mistakes.
Assombalonga - 3. A very poor player, with very poor commitment and a football Scarecrow.
Fletcher - 3.5. Just a lacklustre waste of space, so glad he has gone.
Akpom - 5. Disappointing season and sadly I have no confidence he can improve.

What the hell the Gazette are on I don't know. We finished tenth in a very bad Championship.

"Mendez-Laing - 5. Had less impact than I hoped and expected. Miles off ever being fit."

Had absolutely no impact and as you say miles off ever been fit....3

Hall 8 an absolute beast

Johnson 6.5 solid performer
Tav 8 pure gold, irreplaceable
Kebano 7 solid top end champo player,

NML 4 might be a good player, didn’t show it
Coulson 3 in at the deep end struggled
Britt 4 disappointing flat track bully
Akpom 5 didn’t manage his game
Fletcher 3 injured and never got back into it

britt is 1 for performance and a 0 for effort. An utter fuc|king disgrace. Hes going to get tortured if he ever returns to the riverside and quite rightly so.

Did Mendez-Laing play enough to get a rating with his two starts?

Can certainly be filed in the "overpaid footballer" category. (Which I suppose is better than the "robs a living as a footballer" one)!

Possibly not, bear! Maybe it was recency bias - I can remember Mendez-Laing's contribution much clearer than I can Wing's. I think NML showed a bit of promise as he got fitter, he was ridiculously rusty and cumbersome at the start. But I take your point.
He did very little apart from the odd shimmy to retain control of the ball and one decent cross. As opposed to Wing scoring two goals.

Bettinelli 3 Flapped around more often than a hummingbird
Archer 6 Did better than I expected, but prone to errors nevertheless
Dijksteel 7 Greatly improved but injuries took their toll. Needs to press on next season
Fisher 5 Excellent debut, but performances and injuries since mean the jury is still out
Spence 3 poor defender, lacks positional nous and concentration, struggles further forward, not sure what his position is, but I know it isn’t in a Boro shirt
Hall 7 Steady eddie, lacks a turn of foot, but a good acquisition, injuries need to be kept at bay
Fry 8 Excellent defender, reliable, surely destined for the top, hope it is with Boro
McNair 7 Bags of quality, sometimes gets a bit gung-ho the odd defensive error, prefer him in midfield but adaptability has been priceless. His set pieces have been sublime for the most part.
Bola 7 What an improvement under Warnock, looks a decent buy now, solid LB, but lacks height in a back 3, decent pressing forward and has a decent shot in him.
Howson 7 Mr reliable, but toward the end of season, his legs were showing signs of a long season, hope he can regenerate.
Morsy 7 Does the dirty work well. Every team needs this type of player, a real battler, underrated by some fans.
Saville 5.5 Average, weighs in with the odd goal but floats around in no mans land at times, sell to aid rebuilding as contract coming to an end
Johnson 6.5 had his best season, he lacks pace for a winger mind, decent cross, can do a job at wing back, but gives silly fouls away around the box. Squad player rather than a guaranteed starter for me
Tav 8 He has made me eat my words from his early days. He is everywhere, creates and scores goals. A mercurial talent destined for the top.
Kebano 7 I liked him lots, his end product was not always the best, but he had the pace and creative spark we have been missing. Would have liked him to stay.
Watmore 9 Mr 100% a great signing always wanting the ball, has a turn of pace and scored the goal of the season for me
Browne 6 started to show signs of his worth before injury struck, shame
NML 4 Way of the pace needed, big decision for Warnock
Coulson 3 has pace but not sure he knows how to use it with a football at his feet. Poor defender, not a winger for me either. I will trust Warnock on what to do with him
Britt 2 Lazy flat track bully on a going day, which were rare. I am sure he will score goals in the right set up, but his attitude is poor and the biggest waste of money ever
Akpom 4 Not a Warnock player, sell
Fletcher 3.5 decent finisher but thats where it ends, poor attitude, another who flattered to deceive. Poor value, best he has moved on for all concerned
Bolasie 7 Good loan signing, always tried his best, would like him back but only if wages are affordable. His unpredictability is an asset

Bolasie twice? And with different ratings each time? : )

He scored one and made one.
he was also a little unlucky not to score another two where he got in positions free and the ball wasn't quite right and by the time he adjusted he was blocked. He also seemed to know when to go for the line and cross and when to retain possession. He's no worldie but he has ability

Fry / Tav and Watmore 8s. I think it's a bit of an issue how reliant we are on them (especially Tav and Fry).

Howson / Bola / Mcnair and Dijksteel were superb up up until Feb time. Then just seemed to lose a bit of form. The shear amount of games and squad size probably didn't help.

I think we are definitely a better side with Morsy and missed him. I think he's been a slightly under rated signing at around 1mil.

Also a mention to Grant Hall. He was pushing an 8 based on his comeback. I thought he was outstanding in the last 10 games.

I wouldn't give Britt a 1 based on his post Xmas 'form'. An absolute waste of space who what on the beach for the majority of the season😕
