Gathering Sounds Stockton

Hamish Hawk was outstanding. Low Hummer good. Finn Foster as mentioned above was a great opener. The Ks at a pretty full Arc were good. Bull also at the Arc.
All in all a good day. Some bands pulled out but others stepped up to the mark. Had to leave to get last train due to our abysmal transport system.
Great to catch up to so many nice people and thanks to Mark for giving me a free ticket. Roll on Twisterella but I have about 4 gigs before then.

Hamish Hawk's latest single caught my ear on 6Music this week (thought it was a return to form for The Divine Comedy at first)....I need to investigate him more.

Hamish Hawk was outstanding. Knew I’d like the music but the performance was great.

Barely saw an average act all day.

Red Rum Club just get better and better. The K’s were great, Finn Forster, Michael Gallagher, Low Hummer, the Feens, were all good. I’ve forgotten a few.

Best thing was the buzz of the town and the smiles around all the venues including the staff and bouncers. Wonderful day.

Red Rum Club again midweek, then Nick Cave, then Kubix Festival Saturday, Lounge Society at the Westy on Sunday, then Twisterella the week after, then the Waterboys, then Live at Leeds, then Plastic Mermaids.

I will have seen 50-60 bands in 25 days if all goes to plan!
