Has Du Blonde pulled out. Was hoping to see her but she is not listed here. Has the TBC at the Arc 2 been announced yet. Didn't realise this was on until I bumped into a mate at the match on Saturday.

She has - there's a post on her FB page explaining - health issues/concerns basically.

Can't see any posts about who replacement is yet anywhere though.

Even though I'm going to see Red Rum Club the following week, even though there are bands like Sophie & The Giants, Mysterines and Weird Milk I'd like to see, I think I'll have to make sure I catch them.

Hamish Hawk is my must see though.

There are a lot of good quality, but quite samey bands on I think, so I want to catch Big Society who seem to put a little more premium on the melody rather than driving bass and snarly guitars. Although I'll probably take in The Clause.

Quite like Finn Forster as an early bit of quality to set the day up. Mostly, I'm just looking forward to the buzz of the live small venue urban festival again. Nothing beats it.

This Friday its Field Music at the Westgarth, then Gathering Sounds is all day on the Saturday. The following saturday it's the Kubix festival at Sunderland to see The Wedding Present, Sleeper, The Farm, Cast, Primitives, Selector, Futureheads, and the Levellers. The Saturday after it is Twisterella and the Saturday after that it is Live At Leeds. In the middle of all that I've got Red Rum Club, Lounge Society, Waterboys, Nick Cave and Plastic Mermaids.

Plus Spector, Public Service Broadcasting, The Charlatans, The Snuts, Cattle & Cane, Tim Minchin and Songs From Northern Britain in November and December. I've probably missed a couple.

Hamish Hawk is my must see. Gonna watch Boro match then head over hopefully in time to catch Finn Foster.

I have listened to all the bands listed so far with the exception of the Arc 2 list (thats for in the morning) and I agree Lefty that lots of bands sound very samey. I thought the same at Twisterella last year. Should be enough to keep me going though. Will have to go back and check Big Society as they have no star rating on my rough gig guide. At the same time they are on I have The K's

A friend just put me onto the Ks tonight and I think they sound great. Unfortunately their only forthcoming gig near London is when I'm back up in Boro. Ah well, next time.

Can I boost this up to the top again - great to see live music back - the fans have been starved - the acts and venues have faced such unprecedented difficult times.
Welcome back Gathering Sounds.

This guy is my must see of the day. He has loads of great songs on YouTube/Spotify but I was really taken by this Leonard Cohen cover. Loads of people cover this but his version really gets the feeling of the original. Its one of the best versions I had heard.

Hamish Hawk - Suzanne (Leonard Cohen)

Flaming timings have changed. Not a lot, but it only takes a little to b***r me up quite a bit.

Quite pleased Dead Pony are now on early though and hopefully I can catch the back end of Shambolic after Red Rum Club.

Where are latest timings Lefty.

EDIT..................ok got them.

On first listen looks like I will be mainly loitering around tha Arc but things will no doubt change with the introduction of beer and meeting people. Been pretty ruthless on my gradings but there is good bands with no stars who if I see won't dissapoint. Gonna watch Boro game in Redcar then train up hopefully to catch Finn Forster. Ending times of the bands means I will miss last train home so a taxi back to redacr will put a hole in my pocket as I am going alone but really looking forward to it.
