Gaston Ramirez OOC

No. He didn't have any affinity with the club. The only way players can comeback is if they had a bond - Stewart Downing

Absolutely loved him and would have him back in a heartbeat (obviously won't happen tho).

The most technically gifted player we've had in years.

Remember Steve Agnew giving Ramirez the big rallying call to the fans about how he was going to be the saviour in the run up to the Bournemouth game.

Bad attitude player and pi$$ poor manager - relegation surrendered with a whimper with another shocking (cheap) decision by Gibson in thinking Agnew would keep us up rather than going for fresh ideas and a new face with plenty of points still to play for.

It was so inevitable wasn't it?

I'd never have gaston back here, his antics following that leicester interest and after being caught trying to slip one to some whiff off instagram are some of the worst I've seen.

What is it with some boro fans by the way? No matter how bad a player treats the club, one little flash of tallent and we want to hop back into bed with them. Like the woman who keeps on taking back the bloke who cheats and beats on her but she just can't resist his cheeky smile and empty promises. Rav, Yak, Gaston just to name a few that some boro fans would have welcomed back to the club with open arms over the years.

He really wasn't, he was a waste of a shirt.

(And nothing like Obi-Wan Kenobi)
He was, everyone is just massively blinded when someone has the cheek to want to play for someone else other than Boro. Same with Braithwaite.

I like the ‘he deliberately got sent off against Bournemouth’ one. Where he shouldn’t have been sent off 🤦🏻‍♂️

We should have sold him to Leicester but equally he should have accepted that he was still contracted to the club, behaved like a professional and put in the effort for his employer.

As for the Bournemouth sending off; he knew what he was doing. How often do players get a 2nd yellow minutes after getting their first?

Still my favourite, and in my opinion the best, goal scored at the Riverside by a Middlesbrough player.

Still looks to be without a club I think.

Scored one of the best goals I've ever seen live but at the other extreme his disinterested sulk cameo at Stoke was a disgrace for a professional footballer and an insult to those of us who'd travelled to the game

His red card at Bournemouth looked deliberate or if not a ridiculous act that let everyone down.

If he had just got on with his job for the Boro he would have attracted a big club and collected some winners medals.
And he would have even more money which was clearly the main thing for him.
As it stands his biggest achievement in football is an english championship runners up medal with us. The club he treated with complete contempt.
Don't want to see him back on principle.
Glad his career came to nothing.
But sad to see such obvious talent wasted because of pure greed.

Ramirez deciding to down tools when he did completely derailed our season. Up to that point he'd been more or less our only creative spark, you can't under-estimate just how important he was to us.

Yes, the club should have allowed him to leave and reinvested the money into the squad, but there was no excuse for the way he behaved for the remainder of that season. He showed a total lack of professionalism.
