Gary Lineker leaving Match of the Day

I’d like to see a number of presenters on rotation to keep it fresh. The format has gone a bit stale for me as well, could do with an overhaul. Gabby Logan, Mark Chapman, Alex Scott could all do a decent job.
 
Absolutely gutted, he is such a great presenter. The only option should be Chappers, if Logan gets it then it is the BBC is going down the line of ‘woke’ idealism being thrust upon us. I’d accept Alex Scott as at least she has played the game, but this is a dark day that may see me skip through the chit chat and frankly switch off if it gets any worse.

How would gabby Logan presenting be different to des lynam or chappers

You’ve basically contradicted yourself by saying you’d accept Scott cos she’s played the game but the only option is chappers, who hasn’t

Logan has been a prominent figure on BBC since about the turn of the century. I bet she presented MOTD 20 years ago and long before “wokism” was a thing.

You can just say you don’t like her, if that’s the issue.
 
Gabby Logan played herself presenting the fictional World Cup coverage in Mike Bassett, she's more than qualified to present MOTD

It matters a lot to certain people, sadly.

I would pop OTR to see how they're taking the news that a "split **** woman" (their vernacular, not mine) might be about to present their favourite footy highlights programme on a regular basis but I can't be bothered exposing myself to all that bile at the moment.

They've probably only just cleaned themselves up after Trump won, to be fair
 
It's good news for me that Lineker is leaving the BBC MotD, but would be even better news if it was announced that Shearer was leaving with him.

..... the Rest is History duo (reportedly) make £100K a month from it! It has even broken the US market! .... and the rest ... The Rest is Football is only the 3rd best revenue earner for Goalhanger ...

Goalhanger may be up for sale. As a founder, I guess he owns at least 33%. I assume Lineker won't necessarily miss the BBC salary if this happens.

.... apparently on the block for £50M ....
