Good piece, although it would have been interesting to hear about the details of Karanka's PL signings - the silence is deafening.

Gill didn't get enough credit in some quarters for me, but the days of trying to identify 'hidden gems' have long gone now I think.

Nice mention for Ben Fisher too, he coached my daughter at Boro for a while - he's a great fella and does some top work.

I thought it was an interesting insight.
He comes across a little bit defensive about how 'all Clubs were doing recruitment this way' (ie, guesswork/luck).
If true no wonder the door was left wide open for more switched on operators such as Brentford to steal a march on us.
