Fulham ticket details?

I only go to about 4 or 5 away games a season. The loyality points only roll over for 2 years - so new season card holders can catch up pretty quick. Someone who has had a season card for decades would only need to have gone to a cup game or 2 or 2 or 3 away games each season the last couple of years to have enough points.

As others have said a lot of away games don't sell out. So there is plenty of opportunity to get those points outside of the glamour games in a given season. My nights travelling back from the Midlands and the North West where there were a few hundred there the season before last are proof of that.

When there is only 1600 tickets and 15K season cards, some of whom go to extra games, there are always going to be people who miss out.

I still don't quite know how I got an Ostrava ticket - it was a week after they had all sold out and £50 came out if my bank. Sat waiting for the postie for the next 3 days.

But I've missed loads of games too - but as long as those that go enjoy themselves as much as I would I don't begrudge them having 'my' ticket.

I wonde how many like me are going to Fulham and Blackpool? That's my summer holiday and all my husband brownie points used for this season.

Disagree…I don’t think a loyalty scheme was desperately needed at all. There was already a loyalty scheme in place. A scheme where everyone knew where they stood and season ticket actually meant something. I’ve said it before, I’m a non-season ticket holder and I feel less inclined to buy a season ticket now because it doesn’t have the same benefits as it used to. It doesn’t give you the same benefits anymore.
Yes it does. It gives you a more chance of an away ticket than the normal walk up fan. A season ticket holder still gets benefits (cheaper prices over the season to walk ups, more chance of away ticket than non season ticket holders)

Plus the loyalty scheme puts those who’ve had season cards (and attended away games) as priority - which should be the case.

A season ticket holder of 1 season who’s been to 0 away games last 2 seasons should not have the same right/chance as someone who’s been a season ticket holder since 1995 and who has been to a good chunk of away games in the 2 years prior.

The loyalty scheme is a lot fairer than it previously was.

There will be four or five games a season when your chances of getting an away ticket are the same as a walk up fan, zero. They will be the popular games, you might not get to go to a popular away game for years as it's a closed shop.

What does the person below do? They have to go to 6 away games just to pull level with me on points, and I still don't have enough points for popular games. They've got no chance against those who already have enough points.

Precisely. A season ticket always used to guarantee you a shot at an in-demand away ticket. It doesn’t now. I don’t disagree that you get a discount match by match, but that’s only if you miss just the 3ish games. I can’t get to most mid weeks as I live away. No point in me getting a season ticket. It has even less value to me now.

MFC supposedly lost all the season ticket records from Ayresome Park and membership records when they moved to the Riverside - so back in 1996/7 - the new fan was getting the same chance as fans who have supported the club through thick and thin - such as Administration the era of home crowds of 4,000 and less than 100 at some away games. This also partly explains why new fans were treated the same in the past, according to MFC there were no loyal fans. Was it fair? How do you think the fans of 1985/6 felt?

Can we have a small charity bet that most league away games this season will be available at some point available to all season ticket holders? (assuming normal ground capacity's)?

Quite a number of poster have stated the Fulham game (this season in particular) is not a normal game. 160 points will not be the normal requirment.

My Dad being one of them was fine with it because it afforded him the opportunity to go to away games with his son, as we both had season tickets.

I might not have had that opportunity otherwise. Would I still be hooked on the Boro had I not? Couldn’t say for certain…

I keep harking back to the guy who came in to manage the Ticket Office (wish I could remember his name)and left as quick as he arrived but again he told me when I met him that there were no records what so ever of who held season tickets at Ayresome Park after the move to the Riverside.

The other thing he said that that upto the point (or just before) of the implementation of the Priority points scheme there was no accurate records of who had bought tickets for away matches. He said the only name that was recorded was the person who bought the tickets. So if I went in and bought 3 tickets for an away game my details were recorded but the other two weren't.

Derek Matthews was the former ticket office manager's name.

My question about the records and was it fair about honouring loyalty was not answered, I suspect because it was so obviously unfair that the people who stuck with the Club in its most difficult time were only treated the same as people who had not.

Again on the Fulham game and away games this season not answered, - every poster on this board knows the Fulham game is not typical of our away games this season. Can we please agree any sort of season ticket will get you an away ticket to the majority of away games.

For the Fulham game - Is there tickets in the Fulham end available to buy and keep a low profile. If someone has a London address and desperate to go to the game live?

Interestly no one has mentioned the tickets are £30, no complaints, no moans - when MFC sell tickets for £30 we are told they are grossly over charging and they should be £20 for middle aged adult etc when purchasing odd tickets. OK Fulham is in London, but the quality of the facilities are poorer than the Riverside (@ Fulham the concourses are open and tight, toilets more limited, some of the seats are uncovered, some of the very left sided seats don't even face the pitch).

There's lots of pros and cons for a loyalty scheme but personally I dislike it as I think it's actually divisive and creates different tiers of fan.

We're all Boro fans and we should all get equal shot at the big games. As others have said the loyalty scheme just gets abused with tickets changing hands bought for others and over time the points gap widens further. History tells us that for clubs who have a loyalty scheme it gradually just becomes a closed shop, which isn't good for growing the game with young fans or fans who live outside the area and aren't ST holders. A loyalty scheme also penalises the younger fans who miss out as they aren't old enough to have amassed enough points.

It causes more grumbles/complaints every away game instead of just the one off big games, where let's face it, there will always be unhappy people anyway.

I'd go back to how it was before. Potentially I'd consider an away season ticket for the hearty souls (a handful?) who don't miss a game home and away.

Personally, the whole scheme feels like a sledgehammer to crack a nut and it seems to cause more problems than it was brought in to solve.

Is anyone elses Fulham tickets not showing on their online account? Hate to worry but it shows my next game as being Blackpool.

I agree it can be divisive and I agree it can penalise young fans.

Ref young fans - however the current MFC scheme allows keen young fans to overcome the disadvantage of age. Also should very young fans be really travelling around the country to games. Its more the over 10s who have had 2 years to own a season ticket via parents etc.

When there are only 1000 to 1600 tickets and over 4000 fans want them - how do you select?

Last Thursday I imagine over 2000 fans tried buying 1000 and it was a giant scramble, maybe another 500 loyal fans could not be available precisely at 3pm and lost out. If there was a full free for all, it would have been 4000 trying to buy 1000 tickets and those with the fastest internet connection/fastest device and available at the stroke fo 3pm getting through. I also have some suspicions that quite a number of the 1000 tickets were never available at 3pm.

Just a question re. Fulham tickets and the bar being set at 160 priority points, so if the person purchasing has 160 points, can they purchase for people in their network who have less than 160 points in the same purchase???
