Fuel shortage

Ive no doubt changes to IR35 have had an impact but doesn’t excuse Brexit as a major issue.

That graph keeps appearing and it gives a very skewed view because multiple answers were allowed. But let's take it at face value for a minute and work out what percentage of drivers left because of brexit.. 17% roughly. Yet when I quoted 15% I was shouted down by the same people popping the tired old bar chart up. Saying stuff like made up figures.

No one is saying brexit hasn't played a part. What I am saying and have said consistently is that we would be where we are with a shortage of drivers without brexit and we would.

I am unconvinced that any changes to caboose will make a significant difference and I feel the same way about emergency visas.

Time will tell I guess.
There is more incentive for companies/drivers to get in and undercut UK haulage companies, which is more comprehensive than individual drivers making the move. The two week period will also allow some leeway for border delays.

Maybe bear but I read this morning that containers at ports are sitting for nearly 3 times as long waiting for drivers.

The ft also reported today that the European shortage is becoming dangerous so not sure whether sticking players are the answer.

Italy will be experiencing goods shortages soon. Trieste been one of the ports affected.

Those are exactly the jobs that cabotage would help solve and something foreign companies might find lucrative. There doesn't seem to be the same issue at continental ports as Maerske are rerouting from Folkstone to the Netherlands to get their super container ships on the move.

Brexit has always been a war in reality. It's entire basis has been in outright lies.

Shame on those who continue to fall for them.

It looks like thats the way this country is going. The government, with complicit and malleable media, will just deflect from every one of their brexit failures with misdirection and blaming everything else. It'll be a constant stream of misinformation and outright lies (much like the original campaign) and it'll fool enough people to keep them in power and, more importantly, stop them from having to fix the problems. We've seen on here there is a hardcore of people who are happy to repeat the lies and will support their brexit unicorn despite the fact they don't actually know why.
I think you're trying to hard now, just accept your culpability.👈

Driving an arctic is a highly skilled job and the drivers are treated very badly. The model of pulling drivers from poorer economies isn't really sustainable.

I don't know what the answer is but changing visa Legislation won't help.

A vast majority of them are on strike.

Possibly. My opinion is that the issue is one of a screwed economy where every employee is under valued in the name of profit.

Capitalism is heading off the edge of a cliff and it needs legislation on a global scale to correct the obscene imbalance.

To hard what? Funny, as a brexitist you probably consider yourself a "patriot" yet you can't even speak the language.

Name me one thing that is wrong in my post
Your anti government rants won't cover the fact you voted them in. And I don't consider myself anything, your deflections and assumptions are wrong Tory boy.

You're the one deflecting. It's worth noting your distracting from the subject by concentrating on personally attacking me. We all know what that means and we can all see what you're doing.

The cowardly "I don't consider myself anything" response can't hide the fact that all you are doing is attacking me to not have to address the issue. I thought we were over that now I keep bringing people up on it.

I guess it's going to take a while for the message to sink in to some people. You'll get there. Don't worry about being slow

Yes at various ports around the country.
I haven't looked but I would guess they see the increase in wages across the channel and, quite rightly, decide that their employers are powerless in the current hgv climate.

You're deluded. How can commenting on your voting record be a personal attack?, Incidentally you keep saying you had your reasons for voting Tory, well people had their reasons for voting for brexit, what's the difference, were yours more noble.

Yet another personal attack. I guess this one just doesn't understand that we have him sussed.

Wonder what this has to do with fuel shortages?
