McNair is a rolls royce of a centre half when he’s on it, he’s probably the player who’s been written off the most by fans.

Fry has been superb for weeks and gets very little credit. Didn't hear anyone praise him for his wing play and assist at Sunderland, also rose like a salmon to win the header prior to our winner.

Paddy is much better playing that left side (as he did when we played a 3 under Wilder), I think it makes him concentrate more.

I’d say it proves my point that CB is about partnerships as much as individuals. Fry was already in the team letting in too many soft goals before lenihan was ‘rested’

Fry is the best centreback by a mile and has been for seasons. Amazed at the criticism he recievces from fans when his form dips slightly. Fair play to McNair hes grabbed his chance and playing the best football of his boro career. I also think playing with dieng instead of steffen has given the defence an extra confidence

I was critical of Fry earlier in the season, I thought he was way off it. However I'll eat Humble pie and gladly say he's been absolutely excellent the last few weeks and long may it continue
