Sheff Utd 2-2 at home. Ridiculous Giles o.g. and a Watmore sitter against the post at the end.
Yeh I was there. IIRC we were stood for half an hour waiting for the announcers to work out goal differenceI remember it well, despite the loss Boro fans were under the impression Aston Villa had finished below us on goal difference, so we were celebrating at the final whistle, until the tannoy announcer revealed we'd finished 3rd on least goals scored. The Leicester fans (who brought a big following that day) went mental hearing that. Not sure why, I always thought they and Villa had a bit of a rivalry!
If my auntie had b0ll0cks she’d be my uncle, not necessarily in this day and ageStoke away too - how we didn't win that match I'll never know! But then again, Stoke at home we got a point we probably didnt deserve.
If me auntie had b0ll0cks she'd be me uncle.
I posted that without thinking, maybe one of them old school sayings that isn't quite appropriate in todays modern worldIf my auntie had b0ll0cks she’d be my uncle, not necessarily in this day and age
Or the pompey 6th round game wen anderton scored direct from a cornerYou can drive yourself crackers looking back.
Still haven't got over the fa cup defeat against Orient.
Wasn't that 5th Rd or is my memory going?Or the pompey 6th round game wen anderton scored direct from a corner
Brum 75 and Wolves 81 still rankle with me.
This is still hard to bare but I can't believe no one's mentioned the FA Cup quarter Final game against Birmingham when we got beaten 1-0 after stuffing them 3-0 both home and away prior to this game and the Wolves 1981 FA Cup Quarter Final when got beat in the replay at their place. You can drive yourself crackers looking back.

I mentioned Orient as an example, there have been many.
I have now decided you are top of the posters I dislike list, I had forgotten about Leicester at Wembley.I mentioned Orient as an example, there have been many.
Birmingham was my first big disappointment, Wolves was also a huge letdown.
Drawing 3-3 at home to Newcastle, victory cruelly snatched away.
Leicester at home, stopping our promotion on the last day.
Losing 4-0 at Sunderland on the back of a great run.
Oh and don't forget the league cup semi at man city having won the first leg.
I could go on...
Christ, I missed that. That was one of the very worst, ecstasy to gut wrenching agony.I have now decided you are top of the posters I dislike list, I had forgotten about Leicester at Wembley.
