From today house buyers can go view houses again

One of them has a positive impact on the economy, one of them doesn't. Working is a necessity for the economy to function, visiting family and socialising is important, but not economically, and hence it is an unnecessary risk. It's a rubbish situation but it is sensible.
 
Boromike, it is sensible in an economic sense, you are right. However, you take that to it's ultimate conclusion, it doesn't make for pleasant conclusions.

It is a very delicate balancing act, and whatever the government do, it is going to lead to some criticism. Some of it right, of course, but some of it based on peoples frustrations around isolation.

I wouldn't blame the government for trying to get the economy moving again. I would, of course, blame them for the crappy mixed messaging.

Incorrect use of the word prejudice I think Konrad. That statement suggests having a political allegiance is somehow bad, i.e. prejudicial. I am a socialist, it doesn't mean I can't see some decent policies from a tory government, though they are outweighed by the negligence of the weak and vulnerable. That is an informed opinion, not prejudice.
 
Is buying a house on the lost of priorities for people at the moment? Won't mortgages be hard to come by a decent price right now?
 
Lots of people were in a position to buy so are probably still in that position. Interest rates have also never been lower so it's probably a good time.
