Friend stuck on 299 Boro games

Never noticed that before, what an annoying number for him.

I wish he'd stayed here.

He's barely playing for Birmingham now though, and has had plenty of injury issues there.

Not sure the club would really benefit from bringing him back as a player, but you never know.

Who 'd be happy for him to have a testimonial to make it 300 ? A chance to get the 2015 team back together too.

Wouldnt count mate

My stats that have built over the years doesnt include the anglo Scottish/italian tournaments, only league, FAC/LC & european game

If you count tesimonilas you may as wll count other friendlies, which would then take him over 300 game

Nice point though for a great pro

Remember him coming here fior Birmingham, no crowds then & going away with an away win & the MOTM award

"Then I had my kids here and they're little Teessiders and they still get the Boro kits every year. It doesn't stop. As any football fan will tell you, once you're part of a club and your family are part of the club as well, you can't escape that

What a lovely thing to say, French Frank said more or less the same

People knock the area but the two I mentioned came here, started a family & still love it here to this day

Yeah, he was immense in that game, which was a shame for us.

Thought it showed the measure of him in the game last season when he went around the whole stadium applauding the fans at the full time whistle, Birmingham had just won that time too.

Very classy man.

GF became our 824th registered player when making his debut away to Bury in a league cup fixture on the 11th August 2012, we won 2-1, he also became our 27th league cup debutant, scored 10 goals during his time here

4 other players made their Boro debuts in that game
Grant leadbitter
Emmanuel Ledesma
Mustapha Carayol
Jonathan Woodgate - Returned

Indeed, shows his character

Yeah, he was immense in that game, which was a shame for us, agree, though none of us would have begrudged him that

We had some big leaders in that team that Mowbray brought in & Karanka pushed on

Arguably one of the best 100k ever spent. I put him in the Robbie Mustoe bracket in terms of pound for pound value👍

To be stuck on 299 is a strange quirk of fate. Although doesn't really mean much. It's gotta be frustrating.

It's a shame he never penned thew deal we offered. I don't blame him for leaving as we offered massively reduced terms and 1 year. So a 2 year probably on more at brum was a no brainer.

The funny thing is he'd have probably played a few games at either LB or LCB. We were down to almost no fit defenders for months. Also played well when fit for brum that season. So 'still had it'.

I doubt he's far off packing in due to injuries. He won't get a new deal with brum. So maybe just a case of proving his fitness for a free transfer in the summer. He may land a deal in league 1 or 2 for a year.

I expect him to pop up at the Riverside at some point. I'd say not necessarily as a coach. Maybe something within media / marketing etc. A very intelligent bloke who could offer something. We've seen Leadbitter get employed.
