10am – Who am I? – exploring family history with Martin and Julie

Local Historian Martin Peagam seeks help from Julie at Stockton Reference Library, to help him discover his family roots. Over the course of Local History Month, he chats about what he needs to do and what resources are available to help him.

11am – Middlesbrough Town Hall history

Middlesbrough Town Hall has developed a series of short films celebrating people’s unique history with Middlesbrough Town Hall and its role in the heritage of the place we all call home.

Through a series of interviews, learn more about the rich and important history of this building and its unwavering identity since the first foundation stone was laid.

Developed by Middlesbrough Town Hall in partnership with less is MORE productions and LCM media.

2pm – A brief history of ‘Maxwell’s Corner’ in Stockton

Eleanor Blyth and Fiona Riley of the Stockton Council’s Townscape Heritage Project talk about the long and interesting history of the area now fondly known as ‘Maxwell’s Corner’, and provide an brief insight into the work being carried out, and future engagement opportunities available, as part of the Townscape Heritage Project.
