Great book this and a superb magazine - really terrific Christmas offer this. You can read Harry every month in the magazine.
I really admire the way Andy Lyons and the team have continued this quality magazine through over 400 issues. It remains current, challenging, informative and very much a fans-eye view of football.

Thanks Rob

The offer is now been bought by a relative for a Xmas present for RW.

Just before your post they were looking at buying the book on Amazon (where its £13 plus postage - you must be a mind reader.

I have just finished Extra Time this morning. Wonderful little book of 50 delights around going to a game of football ranging from Local radio commentators (controversial on here) to the mystery of Late Fitness Tests, the joy or despair of Late Goals and the hilarity of referees falling over etc etc etc.
It says on the sleeve notes "Gray writes like Lowry paints." There is a lot in that.
Am going to talk with Daniel about Extra Time for the next fanzine. He wrote for the fanzine for many years now he is an author of little books of football wonder.
I would heartily recommend this and so another reason to make the WSC subscription a winner.

Another hoof for this - WSC also have great calendars and other Christmas gifts on offer. Support your national fanzine.

I didn't know that WSC was still active. I presume it is hard copy and not an online version?

I subscribed in the 80's (ish) and even had a very tasteful T-Shirt from them.

On the subject of magazines, and going slightly off track, I used to subscribe to New Society. One month there was an article headlined, 'Leeds, its Hooligans and the Meeja (sic)'. When reading the article I browsed the accompanying photograph (black and white) and noticed that the photo was in fact of Middlesbrough fans. The only reason I was alerted to this was that myself and a mate were clearly identifiable. 😀

No hooligans though.

I'm on hard copy though if you subscribe all previous copies (back to number 1) are available to view online. It's worth subscribing anyway but they have been struggling a bit because the pandemic has hit shop sales so subscribing does the magazine a favour.

The latest has an article by Harry Pearson about the Brum game the other week. One of the pictures features 'a lone Middlesbrough supporter' walking past the stadium. It looks like Rob. Is it?

OOH - my copies of WSC go to my office and postal deliveries can take up to a few weeks at present because they are council offices and mostly closed. I will go and have a look and see if it has arrived. That is interesting.
Daniel Gray writes quite often as well and he anchors their podcasts also featuring Harry Pearson.

Yes the podcasts are very good. Daniel Gray has a column in the new issue as well. It's only just arrived so I haven't been all the way through it yet.

And I've just checked. You can get a digital subscription.

Daniel is also editor of an excellent Scottish football periodical called Nutmeg. Its quarterly and the current issue also has an article in by Harry about Bobby Murdoch, while Dan's covers Rolando Ugolini.
