Frankie Bam Bam

I have found a load of old interviews on a hard drive - I published one last week with Aitor Karanka.
I have a Frankie Bam Bam interview and also in the future I will run an interview with an older fan whose memory stretched back to some of the early days of Ayresome Park.

Here is the interview and unless you have already read it there are likely to be a few real surprises here -
Bam always wanted me to write his story. He used to shout this at me as he walked past on his way to the game. And it was quite some story as well.
Did you know for instance that Frankie was a former Boro Trailist?

Oops sorry - was reading the interview I should have been editing the link..

Thanks for this Rob. What is "a self-confessed “24 hour man.”"
"24 hour man." Ha ha that is exactly what he said to me, word for word. Anyone that was on a bus or in a car with him on the way to a match would know that he would never rest for a second.
I hope though that what comes across from this interview is his real knowledge of Boro and football.
For the younger members, The Bam was very much a larger than life Boro fan, he also called himself a "character." There was no doubting that.
Somehow he got to all the games, he might have to hitch a lift but he got there. He might be facing the wrong way, leading the chanting, it might not have been the right words or the right chant but he would be starting it.

Good that's what I hoped. He was full-on, up to 11, no doubt about that. Always a twinkle in the eye.
