Frank Wild: Antarctica's Forgotten Hero Frank Wild: Antarctic adventurer. Frank Wild, who hailed from Skelton, was the most decorated Polar explorer of the great heroic age and second in command to Ernest Shackleton on the ill-fated Endurance expedition to Antarctica's South Pole.
Here is the first of three brand new short videos to remember the Skelton explorer - Part of Local History Month.

Thanks for sharing this - excellent.

Do you have a link for the other video she mentions?

I've seen some of their stuff down in Dulwich College London, where Shackleton went to school. Damn shame that the bigger story isn't always told and that these local guys get obscured by the big names.
