Frank Lampard Sacked

Lampard really should have stayed at Derby, did ok there with big backing, but hadn't learnt his trade before jumping into the Premier League fire, not sure he's ever been a coach anywhere either? Similar with Gerrard, Villa move too much of a jump from Rangers, his next step was Championship level. A shame because I think both would probably be decent at international level when Southgate steps down. I would much rather former big stars went down the Lampard and Gerrard route, rather than the safe punditry yawn fest, like Redknapp etc...

he had to take the chelsea job, might not of got another shot at it again.
did alright in his first season since he had a transfer ban
and everton did good to keep them up but clear the board are running the club into the ground and his hands were partially tied
he probs get another shot top of championship or bottom of the prem when a club gets desperate enough

I can't see what he has done to justify a job at Championship level?

The Chelsea thing was really just on the coat tails of his playing career. Derby moderate success bought with an overspending and reckless Chairman playing loose with the rules then nothing but failure really.

If he is serious about being a "manager" he needs to take a job where he can demonstrate an aptitude he has not so far demonstrated in his managerial career. I'd say lower Championship to top of League One sort of level and improve that side over a period of time. My guess is it would be beneath him and he wouldn't be interested. I don't suppose he needs the job. Perhaps Gareth Bale could do with a caddy?

someone will give him another shot, he has enough outs in his experiences, and clearly knows how to play the manager political game very well, and that is usually the reason why we always see the same faces get chance after chance when things don't work out. all down to their relationships with other club owners, his agent and there being limited amount of English managers to choose from at them levels.

Our gaffa knows him well - from the West Ham Days and England(y)

Lamps might learn from doing a muck-n-nettles job at a club like Scunthorpe or Orient?

I'm not so sure he will get another shot somewhere, certainly on his record to date he doesn't deserve one.

Lampard has failed at every club now.

Any owner would be mental to give him a chance.

He's been very fortunate to get the jobs he has had.

probs not worth the wage to him to go there, with the added risk it goes even worse and your tied to them leagues for your next opportunity

but people like his I think seriously miss a trick not paying any dues in the coaching ranks, they should really put some work in the academy, then go through roles of coaching and assisting before taking their own stab at it.

nice boost to the ego to just drop in from being a player to a manager, but if you dont know all the jobs inside out yourself then how do you expect to manage them staff members. epically when you have come from a career which was mainly of things going really well. need to know what to do when things are hard even more than when things are going well. think those who short cut often end up out of management much faster than they would of had their paid their dues and learnt the trade

I think I understand what you are saying.
Some can take the leap from top career into Management - like Michael Carrick. But he is an exception and we are very fortunate to have a Chairman who stuck to his guns to get him signed.
Eddie Howe is another example who finished playing for Bournemouth and next season he was the Manager.
Someone like Lampard clearly wants to get into Management: though Derby County and Everton are like the poisoned chalice.
I agree that any new Manager needs to get their hands dirty - where money is tight, players are less skilled and there is a much bigger call on the Managers skill to actually "Manage".
Its only the clubs with money who think they can buy-in a ready made Manager, or boards who are stupid - like Watford and Forest, who have changed Managers as often as a footballer changes his socks.
Will be interesting to see what happens next (y)
