France shuts schools but not borders

Announcement this evening. We were expecting close down like Italy or Norway, but mainly choice to close all schools. Alternative childcare for those working is essential services (like hospitals) and arrangements for single parents. The government says it will financially support any person or company who needs it.

Over 70s asked to stay at home as much as possible. Visits to retirement homes stopped.

Didnt mention football matches.
 
Not much so far, but I m on holiday this week. So may be in for a shock on Monday. No school is going to disrupt a lot of people though.
 
My partner teaches at a school with a confirmed case. Both teachers and parents were asking for the school to be closed but the regional education authorities refused. Seems like Macron has seen sense and overruled them.

Hope you manage ok mate. Our firm has categorized us into four levels depending on how essential we are to the running of the business. I expect next week a lot will be working from home but I dont have that option. Im UK based btw.
