As of midnight tonight all restaurants, bars, cafés, nightclubs, cinemas, other meeting places and non-essential shops ie ALL BUT food, pharmacy and newsagents, will be closed.

How long before the UK does the same?

Pretty soon I would think. Spain as wellMate of mine just back today from Benidorm ,he said every pub/bar/restraunt was closed.

My partner is a teacher and she was speaking to her union rep today about whether she should travel back and forth to school for meetings. He thinks that in the coming week all travel outside of your town will be banned.

I know someone with a friendly ear in the Cabinet office. The whisper from the meetings were that they were trying to manage a lockdown to happen over Easter hols in order to help with school closures and parents needing time off ( as most would be taking time off anyway)

The info he has received today suggests it’s going to be a lot sooner than planned and will be lasting longer than the anticipated 14 days

I work in a school and the feeling we got was that we would try to get close to Easter before closing. Closing beyond Easter will impact on GCSEs.
