France cancels Ligue 1

See sensible again

I'd actually question whether the French league is a major" league - it's not in the same category as England, Spain, Italy and Germany - and certainly not in money generating terms, which I assume is the driver for completing the season in those countries

Edit - apologies Zorro - don't know what happened there - I didn't mean to quote or respond to you - it was meant to be a new post

I'm convinced its only seen as a major league because of PSG.

That said, they are the world champions.

...and Marseilles when Bernard Tapie was hanging around won the European cup (early 90's I think).

Didn't they subsequently get it taken off them for bribing another club (Valenciennes was it ?) to throw a match or am I getting confused with the League (or indeed jsut getting confused, which is perfectly possible !)

They got the League title taken from them but were allowed to keep the European Cup.

Cancellation wasn't the choice of the League itself, moreover it was the government banning 'all sporting events' until Sept

Which could conceivably happen here too

Boris and co have been pelted for not following what our European neighbours have done. I wonder if he will follow this example (government cancelling sport) or will it be ok if he doesn’t?

Disappointed with the answer you got to the same question on the other thread then Norman ;)
