There seems to be a pattern emerging in the formula 1 world, Max and the Mercs ahead of everyone by a long way in the last three races.
Odd how much Vettel has fallen, has best race of the season by some year, yet on the last lap he’s holding up 5 different cars!

Thank god for max or it would a complete non event but yes it’s dull and getting duller sadly.

looking forward to Mugello though a real
Race track untouched by tilke.

You think it'll give Vettel an advantage?

To be fair there's some proper racetracks coming up. Spa next!

So it is a strange sport . I can't think of another sport where one team winning get someone like Zorro so upset. In pretty much every other sport, teams get lauded for showing dominance, in this one they get accused of ruining the sport. Strange world.

To be fair to Vettel I'd say that's 25% his fault and 75% the car.
I'm amazed Ferrari's appeal in the pink Mercedes case cited lack of transparency after the top secret report into their engines last season which resulted in them going from fastest to midfield.

That's Ferrari though isn't it? Always different rules for them compared to everyone else.

It's years since I decided that the Touring Cars were far more exciting. Not only that, but they encourage you to visit the paddock and meet the drivers. I used to take my son and a couple of his mates down to Knockhill for them when I lived in Aberdeen. I still try with F1, but find my attention wandering.....

It's been obvious since the first race of the season
It's far less competitive than last season, I have to say though I can see it changing when Lewis retires. I could see him taking toto and some of the engineering team with him.
That level of intensity for so many years is tough.

Super boring this year though and next.

The midfield has been very close all season, thats about the only thing keeping it interesting. Today was always going to be boring though that circuit is awful.

Just wish that they had someone competitive in that second merc seat to challenge Hamilton, been robbed of that since Rosberg retired.

True about Montmello, it's just a dull track. Plus the fact they do a lot of testing on there, seem to make it worse, everyone know every part of the track.

Probably because it's not really a sport. You admire athletic or skilful dominance but when someone is winning because they have better equipment than the others then it seems like a hollow victory. Nobody knows who the best driver is but everyone knows what the best cars are. I get that it's not a one man sport and putting the car together is part of the sport but the vast majority of the sport you don't see. The real racing is done in the garage. The races are just a parade.

The theory of F1, the fastest cars and the best drivers etc. is far more interesting than the reality of it these days.

Of course it's a sport. It has design and manufacturing rules & regulations coming out of its ears. It has a budget cap which excludes driver salaries for the explicit reasoning that the best driver is paid the most money. There are plenty of other individual and team sports relying on 'equipment' where the only differentiator is the skill and aptitude of the individual(s) using it.

Didn't they try racing cars that were all the same but with drivers from different countries racing. Think it was a flop.

Other motorsports are available. The WEC is superior to Formula 1 in every single aspect except media management.

No it won’t but it will by a formula e variant as “petrol” sports only have a short shelf life. Look at road car evolution
That's a scary thought when you consider how bad formula e is at the moment. Tiny, slow go karts squirming around on useless tyres on ridiculous tracks in parks and airports.

Sorry, I meant 'esports' as in video games. Motorsports are essentially played sat on your ****. They primarily require lightning-fast and accurate reactions and judgement. This can be replicated virtually. Developments such as VR and haptic technologies will bring them ever closer to the real thing which, in turn, will appear as quaint as chariot racing to the young.
